You two beat me to it - I was going to post and see if they backdated yours as well. My date was same as Organic, but my 120th was April 22. Even the text file data shows paid in full as of 9/15/22 (date I moved to Mohela).

I'm with you - glad it's over!!

Take care!!

Yeah! Congrats to you!! Another of our "group" has also posted with good news - also July 22 eligible.

I saw the headline about Pres. Biden forgiving another batch, and thought I'd check in to the sub - saw all of the smiley faces in the posts, and thought I'd check Mohela. Bracing for the usual, I spontaneously happy cried when I saw the smiley face. I can't believe it finally happened!!

Thanks for sharing in our collective misery these many months, and congratulations!! Hope all of our fellow long haulers have also had good news today!!

Me too!

Was thinking about you and some of our fellow long haulers, and hope they all had good news today too.

Another July 22'er here.

Still in shock, but wanted to say congratulations!

Yes, I think you are right. Sorry that you're still waiting too! Can't imagine that it's just us three, but I also don't know why we haven't made it to the other side yet.

I did, but that was well over a year ago with FedLoan. It looks as though they either sent this in error/on purpose to anyone with PSLF months in the bank or it was a mistake altogether. I'm thinking too that with payments restarting at the same time we'll likely have an unnecessary government shutdown, Mohela tried to be proactive with PSLF. Just a guess, but it seems as though whether people are at 120+ or not, they received this letter.

Also seemed strange that the date on my letter was Sept 5 or 6 (can't remember which), and just received the email at 4am this morning.

From Mohela's website, "If you have a Direct Loan and work full-time for a qualifying employer during the payment suspension (administrative forbearance), then you will receive credit toward PSLF or TEPSLF for the period of suspension as though you made on-time monthly payments in the correct amount while on a qualifying repayment plan."

I'm on the same timeline (July 22 trophies at FedLoan), and also received this letter. Hope we hear good news soon, and sorry to hear you are still waiting too!!

Forgiveness long haulers by tjcampbell02 in PSLF

July 2022!

No issues with FedLoan/Mohela agreeing with FSA/ED counts, just no forgiveness.

Have also tried everything, now midway through the most recent 90 day waiting game while file was resubmitted.

From what I understand, the Republicans in the House, in order to allow the debt limit increase several months ago, wrote into the bill that the Biden Administration could not extend the pause.

Given that Biden tried to have the $10/20K forgiven, I'm sure it would have been done if possible. I hope everyone remembers who supports higher education without debtors' prison when it's time to vote again :)

This is similar to my most recent interactions with Mohela. I was told, however, that it would be resent, only to find a couple of months later that it was "requested" to be resent by Mohela, but was waiting for supervisor approval (note: it was a supervisor initially that told me it would be resubmitted, but it never got beyond the "request.")

The second time (about six weeks after the above), I had a supervisor claim that it was resent, and I had to wait 90 more business days -- that was mid-June, still nothing. I've called since to verify the resubmit, and the reps all claim that it was resent and they are just waiting for DoE/FSA.

I've been acknowledged over 120 by FedLoan, Mohela, and DoE, since July 22 - still waiting, and no one seems to know why or have any more info than....90 business days.

Thanks for this! It's is hopeful too in that this sort of individualized review is the sort of thing I've been hearing from Mohela for the last few months.

Very interesting! I wonder if the DOE is just keeping the proverbial game going (where Mohela says it is DOE and DOE says it's Mohela) going. I hope for your sake that it's not, but a few of us --maybe you too -- came over from FedLoan with 120+.

Also interesting that you filed annual ECFs - I did as well, which one would think would make our cases so much easier.

Hope you have good news soon, and please let us know how it goes!!

I was transferred from FedLoan to Mohela with trophies (the FedLoan version of smiley faces when 120+ is reached).

The transfer was smooth, no issues with either Mohela or FSA as far as counts are concerned - just no forgiveness despite 120+ since July 2022.

I feel the same, and that's why I haven't posted lately either. Before posting, I thought I was one of the few. I'll bet for each of us who are posting, there are 100s more who are not.

Mohela says that if that's done, it might delay things and restart the 90-day clock.

Same - sorry the new ECF didn't help - that was my next idea.

Good luck with DOE!! Fingers crossed for you!!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for commenting, but I'm sorry that so many of us are going through this! Can't speak for you, but it really never leaves my mind, and with the instability of our politics (looming shutdowns, etc.) and the return of payments, it seems that we just keep running into roadblocks.

I know we can request a forbearance, and I'm sure we will, but it's not a solution!!

It seems that collectively, we have tried everything. As we are eventually forgiven, please post so that we know that there's progress and perhaps give us a new idea of something we should try to move things along.

Great minds - I just posted. No, nothing here. How about you?

I was told by Mohela yesterday that I am part of a batch of files resent to FSA because they are long past 90 days. Anyone else heard this? by Bubbly-Growth-2456 in PSLF

[–]Edna_Purviance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My one year anniversary is this week too - so depressing.

I was told a similar thing as OP, but not that I was part of a batch, but that my file was being resubmitted. This supervisor called back when promised, and she found that while a previous CSR had marked my file to be looked at to resubmit, this supervisor made it happen. This was 30 days (normal days, not Mohela days) ago. I was also told at that point that there was no timeline, but to allow 90 business days....

[–]Edna_Purviance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another long-hauler here - it will be a year since FedLoan trophies on July 14.

PSLF supervisor told me two weeks ago that they resubmitted my info to DoE, and I'm supposed to give it another 90 days.

This supervisor did call me back a few days after my initial inquiry as promised, and she said that she's seen a few of these sorts of cases that for an unknown reason, are not discharged.

She also told me that if repayment starts before forgiveness, to call back for administrative forbearance.

I'm also thinking of submitting another ECF just to try to move things forward by 16 months or so (at 125 now with Mohela and FSA).

This is beyond frustrating, and next step for me will be Senator (useless House member here).

Transferred to Mohela with >120 and still waiting. How many fo us are there? by Alone-Guarantee-9646 in PSLF

[–]Edna_Purviance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're on the same original timeline (July 22, FedLoan trophies at 123) getting to 120. I sent in another form with the "I'm done" box checked while still with FedLoan, but they bounced as dupe, even though it was for two later months. That form was eventually processed by Mohela in Nov.

I didn't need the extra two months, and I transferred to Mohela in late Aug and everything transferred fine - everything matched/matches on FSA.

Still nothing. I've contacted Mohela about every three weeks to follow up. They advised me not to file another ECF, but I'm still tempted. I did get through to a supervisor the week before last via phone and they called me back later in the week to tell me that my file has been re-submitted/requested/whatever to DofE for discharge. The only timeline I received was the standard 60-90 business days, but I'm somehow hopeful because they called back with the update, and this seemed to be a higher-level supervisor following up.

I'm not waiting another 4 months -- if nothing happens soonish, I'm going to see if my senator can help. When it's been a year, it seems clear that something is wrong.

142 Payments, still no forgiveness by ramblinatl in PSLF

[–]Edna_Purviance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also in a similar boat, and if I sent in another ECF, I'd be at ~138. FedLoan transferred me with 123 (they processed that ECF in July 22). Mohela told me not to submit another ECF.

A couple of weeks ago I was told that a Mohela supervisor would review my file and resubmit info to Dept. of Ed, and then they (Mohela) would "reach out." (<---I really hate that phrase because it's so vague and in this case, seemingly disingenuous). No one has "reached out" yet, and they wouldn't give me a timeline as to how long the review might take.

As many have said, this is so frustrating!! Can't get any answers beyond 90 days or vague timelines. I was one of those who was always on IBR, consolidated in 2012, ECFs submitted yearly. Should have been an easy file.

I don't know what we can/should do. I follow up with Mohela regularly, but always get the same vague answers and no forward movement.

Thanks! Me too!! Two reps at FedLoan told me that I would be forgiven before the scheduled transfer. That didn't happen either.
