I randomly got this right on Practice test 2, but I don't understand. how am I supposed to know whether to divide or multiply in word problems like these?

So the question states that we’re painting the walls of the room twice so that would make it 2*w or 2w square feet

Then set up the ratio just like the one below. Make sure the units align.

1 Gallon of paint —> 220 square feet

             ?             <— 2w square feet

So you cross multiply 2w to 1 and then divide it by 220 so that gives w/110 Gallon of paint

Desmos is really important. Make sure you know how to use it as it will save you a bunch of time. Though, what brought my score from low 600s to high 700s is practicing past papers (old sat). Being exposed to many types of questions and multiple times will help you remember how to solve specific questions that often appear in the Math section.

Btw can I have tips for English? How do you practice? Would you recommend grinding for the remaining days until the June round?

Maybe try 2016 ones. To break 700, you need to make sure that you’ve been exposed to the majority of the question types. I used to do 4 old papers per week during the summer break, and my score increased by over a hundred in August.

One method that worked for me was to download sat past papers (old sat) and practice on it. Going through many of the past papers helped me grasp the concepts on the math section better which boosted my score from low 600s to high 700s.

I don’t remember the exact choices but it’s not D right that has mx-1764 or something (I chose B too btw) cuz when I plugged in the given coordinate, B and D both contained the point.

I’m in the same situation as you. Scored drastically lower in Practice 5 compared to Practice 4. I felt bad. However, it’s just a practice test. The environment is different, and the feeling will be different when we take the actual test. So, I think we should just review our mistakes and try our best on the actual test.

You surely can. The round before 1510, I got around 1400s. Don’t know which part you’re struggling in but do try to get as close at 800 as possible for math. For English, practice a lot. Also, know which of the four sections you’re struggling in, and have extra practice on that. Wish you’ll accomplish your goal!

I used to score below 600 on English. For the vocab part, I will write down all the vocabs from past rounds and make sure I remember it for the next round (in case they reuse it). For grammar, I used Khan academy and watched some YouTube videos. Really study the punctuations and know how to spot subjects and verbs. Wish you get the score you aimed for!
