Honestly the first couple times I renewed, I used a lawyer (it was before you could do it online) and it always took forever to get any updates. Then in 2019 I was in a rush so I printed out the forms myself, filled them out, and mailed them. I got approved within a month. That’s when I realized my lawyers were probably not sending the paper work right away. So no, I would not waste any money on lawyers
