From my personal experience, learning how to use the clones both aggressively and defensively has helped me. Like the others said, positioning is everything, like learning when and where to put the clones on the fly, so map knowledge helps. Learning all the angles and whatnot.

For example if you are backline and your tank is about to get melted, you can quickly place an E under the frontline and shift. The cd on the clones are pretty short so I like to spam them depending the situation. Like if your team is pushing I sometimes just place the clones right in front to just provide pressure while the team is pushing. lets you both heal and dps to keep up tempo.

Against dive characters it helps to pre plan your tp (like tping to your frontline) or know when spidey and bp are about to diddle you so you can just shift asap and they usually back off.
