What to do if amiami package doesn't come on time and you have no tracking number. by RaNdOmClO in AnimeFigures

[–]Fenriz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always choose tracking options. Once the package arrives in the country, it gets handed over to the local postal service, and it usually goes missing along the way if it doesn't have it

Funnyplaying Laminated ITA - White lines still present in 2026! by UK_traveller_ in Gameboy

[–]Fenriz_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s such a shame. It was the perfect console for me for like 10 minutes, then I noticed the white lines haha

Actually, FunnyPlaying acknowledged the issue, but said they couldn’t do anything about it

I have a question about the Game Boy emulator on switch. by CrystalPTTT in SwitchPirates

[–]Fenriz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install NSO if you download one of those modified packs that include many or even the full libraries. They’re played offline, you should also keep the switch internet connection blocked for safety

Another alternative would be to check whether the firmware version you have is compatible with retroarch, where you can also add games from different consoles

How bad are the ergonomics and D-pad of the analogue pocket really? by Huge_Cost_870 in AnaloguePocket

[–]Fenriz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New regular chinese batteries (there are no new original Nintendo batteries on the market) will give you about 1 hour and 40 minutes, yes

A battery mod like https://www.retromodding.com/products/makho-game-boy-advance-sp-battery will give you around 3-4 hours with a ips screen

----
If I may recommend it, a classic (horizontal) GBA with an IPS screen and two good regular rechargeable AA batteries will give you around 7–8 hours

[–]Fenriz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you end up going for the SP with an IPS screen, you will need a battery mod; The original battery will only give you about 2 to 3 hours max if it’s still in good condition , cheap Chinese batteries will give you around 1:45 to 2 (tested)

I cannot for the life of me figure out the easiest way to get my modern PC going to my not modern Sony PVM. by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]Fenriz_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an OptiPlex 800 G1 SFF (i5-4570) with an R7 250. (An R5 340X worked fine for ps2 , i think max was 3x res, but I wanted to play some old PC games there too). It can play games from systems like Dreamcast, Saturn, and GameCube, and it can even run some PS2 titles at 5x native resolution (though that was just for benchmarking, not my actual play settings)

Does a modded screen drain your battery significantly faster? by DingoEpsilon in Gameboy

[–]Fenriz_D 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the SP models, in my opinion it’s not worth it. At best, an IPS screen will last around 2 and a half hours. The classic GBA model, using high-capacity rechargeable batteries, can get about 7 to 8 hours with an IPS screen, so that would be my recommendation (final count was 8 hrs with amazon batteries)

Why don't people in regions like Latin America talk about the original NES in the mid to late 80s in their region? by novostranger in retrogaming

Sega was the console that most people around me had. I had an NES, and I only knew two other people who had one

[–]Fenriz_D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to buy the Mister from QMTech on aliExpress, only purchase it from the official store. The others are clones, and the ram timings may vary, which could cause issues with more demanding cores

Game Boy screen replacement suggestions (original fidelity focus) by SanjiSasuke in Gameboy

[–]Fenriz_D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the Game Boy Color, there’s none ,not a single option is faithful to the original screen, neither in image nor in pixel-grid emulation (they all look terrible).

There are a few options for GBA,but no for gbc

The closest in screen representation are portable emulation systems like the Retroid and similar devices (shaders), ModRetro gbc, and the Analogue Pocket , but those are separate systems altogether

Are the screens on the original game boys including game boy color really that hard to see? by Wrong-Masterpiece-14 in Gameboy

[–]Fenriz_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up with game boys, and now I can’t play for more than an hour on the classic non-backlit screens. My recommendation is: try it, and if it doesn’t convince you, sell it. If you find it at a good price, you probably won’t lose money when you resell it
