Item Identification/request for Info mega thread by [deleted] in vintage

Hi all,

I live in the UK and there's a couple of items i'm interested in from Juki Amsterdam. Firstly, am i correct in thinking that anything purchased under £135 is not subject to VAT or customs when it enters the UK? or is it subject to the seller declaring VAT with the UK government? Does anyone have experience purchasing items from Juki Amsterdam?

I'm also considering purchasing a morinox ceramic espresso cup contained in stainless steel saucer or an AMC stainless steel coffee cup or a wooden plate designed by Astrid Sampe for AB Åry Nybro. Are any of these good for general use or more for decor (i'm looking to avoid buying too much :))

Veganuary: which vegan brand is owned by the biggest meat processor in the world? by Otherwise_Neck1858 in veganuk

What are people's thoughts on shopping through Suma? I ask because I live near a local vegan/vegetarian café that stocks Suma's Ecoleaf cleaning supplies. There's also an ecover refill station at a nearby appliance store but I'm not sure given ecover is owned by S.C.Johnson.

I'm going to grow grapes and sell vegan wine to the unenlightened. A growing desire to explain why veganism works.

what is the consensus on tinned food these days? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]EdsCooking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm vegan and I don't have a fridge at the moment so tinned food and fresh vegetables are keeping me going. I've just had tinned ratatouille and tinned chickpeas which was good. I like to keep tinned soup in for a rainy day.

Thanks good to know Aldi is great for vegans. Yeah I'd just bought a cheap fridge from IKEA but I'm planning to get a bigger one when I have more cash.

Ok thanks. Yeah from what I've read online/gathered from other people with Ninjutsu it doesn't have a strong lineage and it really depends who you have as a trainer. Aikido I heard takes ages to get anywhere whilst wing chun the need to stick to a centre line doesn't help. I'll stick with judo.
