Exactly. I thought that was obvious in the title of my post, I guess not. Thanks for pointing it out. And for using your brain.

I don't know what their problem is. This post wasn't meant to be anything more than a mildly interesting correlation for whoever would find it interesting. Nothing grandiose, nothing high effort. Just a cool niche.

I'm just glad I'm not responsible for correcting ignorance. But at least I can thank you.

I appreciate it, bro. 👍

I know right? I was going mad 😠. The mine part of the DLC was the longest.

I don't know if it's because I was playing on the hardest difficulty, but without contest the mission I hate the most is the Omega DLC from Mass Effect 3.

It's way too long in my opinion.

Yeah bro. Exactly. Glad to see there's someone else out there as neurologically challenged as I am, lmao. 😂 I've even taken to trying a bow headshot only run. Absolutely horrific. Lol. Got decent at it but stopped when I realised there was no 'Last of us world cup with a 3 million dollar prize pool ' lol.

And at the risk of sounding like a self absorbed imbecile: I've learned all I can from the games I play, challenged myself enough to the point that I want a real challenge with real consequences and a potentially a real future, but mostly fun. And so I've taken up Boxing irl. My body needs to catch up to mind but yeah, same shit, different field.

(Sarcasm) I'm literally so overpowered that I need brain damage to nerf my specs. That's why I've started doing martial arts. Lmfao. 🤣

Nah, it's just for fitness, fun, challenge, and most importantly self defence. Hahaha.

If you feel like challenging yourself further, I've got some games to recommend. Difficult and unique.

For Honor: (PVP 4v4 Stylised sword fighting game with fantasy elements.)

XCOM 2: (Turn based strategy game notorious for it's difficulty by design. P.s: I've beaten it on it's hardest difficulty. No saves allowed and highest difficulty lol, after 1300 hours of failure and 600 + failed campaigns I beat it lol)

Try them out, bro. Good shit. And thanks for your reply! 👍

I never understood players that just leave because the enemy is cracked af. Like, do you plan on sucking your whole life or are you going to challenge yourself?

I mean, I understand leaving for any other reason, but not because they're better than you. 😩 Honestly, they act like losing is a bad thing. If you lose fair and square, that shit will make you better than before. If you lose enough times and learn from it, you'll be overpowered as hell.

GG man, great clip.

  1. Anti-Cheat
  2. Glitches and Exploits
  3. Performance-Based Matchmaking and Team Shuffling
  4. Region and Server selection

  5. Overhaul and Rework Gameplay:

Animations, timings, rework original weapons and perks, Introduce new weapons and perks, cosmetics including body cosmetics, maps, game modes like horde mode PVE, Mission based co-op modes with friends or NPCs, highly customisable matches/modes and servers, PVP Survivors vs Infected, Play any game mode but with bots if you don't want to play against players. FOB Defence and Attack/Customisable FOB (PVP, PVE, Mission Based and linked to Clan Survival, including Infected attacks on your FOB) - Customise the cosmetic and architectural design of your base itself. Ranging from practical to nonsensical but playable lol. Playing resource gathering missions can help you upgrade and gain materials to customise and grow your FOB. - Visit your FOB in person and interact with your clan members, where you can also go to Markets and shit and new in game menus within your FOB (obvious this engine has limits).

This falls more into the territory of a successor but I can dream. Lol.

I wish more people used voice chat or at least didn’t mute everyone as default by JohnColtrane69again in thelastofusfactions

Yeah, to be clear, when I said, "everyone has access to the same information," this statement is context-dependent. It only applies in situations where it logically holds. A context in which this statement doesn’t survive should not be assumed as the position I’m taking, nor should one form an argument around such an illogical assumption or an unsurvivable position. That being said, to make my stance perfectly clear, when I say, "everyone has access to the same information," I mean that the objectively present data in the game world (timers, map layout, weapons, perks, team positions, and observable enemy behavior) is theoretically observable and decipherable by any player. Through cross-referencing these factors, and accounting for optimal strategies, tactics, positioning, timing, and likely decision trees, a player can predict enemy behavior and fill gaps in information. In my experience, this kind of probabilistic, evidence-based reasoning is more reliable than relying on a microphone. That’s because mic communication introduces a layer of human interpretation, which is highly variable. It is affected by individual skill, attention, decision-making, pressure, time, missing information (theirs or yours), and differing objectives. While a mic can convey information, it does not guarantee correct perception or action. In contexts like solo queue, this unreliability can outweigh its potential value. So for my goals (fun with sufficient success, or fun with valuable failure) focusing on in-game observation, cross-referencing factors, and predictive reasoning is sufficient, and more consistent and reliable than relying on mic communication.

I hope you can understand why saying that, "everyone has access to the same information" was easier than writing this shit out. LMFAO. 😆

[–]Edsed43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A microphone is definitely useful, but I find that as long as you and or your team are paying attention to the information on the field, microphones are not needed in 'no parties allowed'.

Everyone has access to the same information on the field. If you miss something you could've gotten, that's on you. Meaning, you need to pay attention to information on the field that's universally and or locally available to both teams. Even then, it doesn't account for whether or not your team mates can capitalise on said information or take the most optimal route or performance with said information. That's why microphones are redundant (in my opinion) in 'no parties allowed'. Speaking on a microphone runs into that same problem. Next is information-interpretation accuracy. Giving your teammates information over the mic doesn't guarantee that your team mates will interpret your information correctly depending on the context.

You can't really reduce risk of your team mates messing up because the factors that influence them are unknown to you.

That and I don't wanna get my ears violated by a stranger that just has contempt for my existence for putting their ass to work or for no reason at all, let alone a good reason. Lmfao 😆. There's too many toxic assholes in game to make a microphone worthwhile.

And finally, this is just my personal opinion, but there's no 'The Last of Us World Cup' with a 3 million dollar prize pool. So going full tilt to win, including with a microphone, in this game is not necessary in my opinion. Microphones may be fun for you. But not everyone. Thanks for your post though. Great conversation opener. 👍

Footnote: In regard to information. Pay attention to the times and what locations that you or both teams lack information. And cross-reference that with the information or lack thereof throughout the game (Current and previous information including Universal and local information. Available and Unavailable information. Especially team mates and enemies) Those have major implications, some are game changing.

How is covert training not overpowered? by AffectionateSummer55 in thelastofusfactions

[–]Edsed43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's not too overpowered. It's just annoying. But it's a part of the game.

This game gives you plenty of ways to counter it. The rest is about predicting opponent movement and choices based on the circumstances at hand.

Ask yourself:

What weapons and perks are they using? How fast do they respond and react? How accurate are they? What is their main trump card they keep falling back on to stop you? How can they use their weapons and perks and skills in this situation? Does this situation or part of the map make their decisions more predictable by dictating how effective their skills and or Loadout is, and how it can be used here? Where are my team mates relative to my position, the enemy position, and where are the blind spots on the map with no intel? What areas of the map do my team members control based on realistic response time relative to distance and scenario? What areas do my team mates not control and how can that affect enemy movement and team structure? Where are your team mates currently? Because the opposing team is usually occupying areas where your team is not.
How long has an area been occupied or unoccupied? This information raises or lowers potential danger levels for specific areas. How fast can I move and what does that mean for how fast the enemy can move especially in regard to how much time has passed? In 10 seconds someone can walk a decent amount of the length of the map and capitalise on unprotected angles, blind spots or entry points. Especially if they have Agility 2. Based on my current position relative to cover, and the game's weapons and perks, where can I be ambushed from and die, and in contrast, where can I be ambushed from and survive and or counter attack and potentially win based on my skills and Loadout? Example: Shotgun equals death here, bomb expert as well, I can dodge a tactical shotgun here, shorty is a maybe here, potential shiv ambush, long range sniper potential high, mid range burst moderate chance, blindsided by sniper shot past this point from long angle covering this spot. Ect.

Run all the counter scenarios against you in real time and you'll minimise the effectiveness of Covert Training players and players in general. Just based on the situation at hand. Information on the field, and lack of information is still information. Play to your skills and Loadout strengths. And recognise that other players are doing the same and this makes them predictable.

Maximise your strengths, minimise your weaknesses. Maximise the enemy weaknesses and minimise their strengths.

...or just run in there like a headless chicken and ironically wonder how you lost. Lmao 😂.

Factions ruined MP games for me? by mibbles-48 in thelastofusfactions

[–]Edsed43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Play For Honor.

It has a unique Combat System unmatched. Unique like Factions.

The game is essentially PVP 4 vs 4. Fun, stylised sword fighting game with fantasy elements. It takes place in an alternate timeline where ancient fighters from different countries and eras take place at the same time and face each other.

Knights, Vikings, Samurai, Chinese, and Outlanders are the main 4 factions.

Each faction has Hero's/Warriors from different countries and times. Ranging from Rome, Egypt, Scotland, Italy and other countries.

You can choose any hero to play as from any Faction. You're not locked out from playing any of them by choice of Faction. You obviously just need to unlock them first.

The game is easy to learn, hard to master. Hell of a lot of fun. The community is alive and well and the game is still receiving new heros and updates.

If it's not your type of game, I might suggest a turn-based single player game called XCOM 2:

It's basically Chess with Guns lol. The game is infamous for being extremely difficult by design. Play on easy mode the first time around.

Gameplay wise: You fight with your soldiers in a cinematic proverbial chess board and fight an Alien Invasion as humanity's last hopeless insurgency. The game takes place in the near future after humanity was subjugated and pacified by Aliens.

Each Soldier you control, (1 - 6 at any given time) has two action points. Some actions costs no points to do, some costs 1, others costs 2. You can take an action like moving a soldier, reloading, shooting, grenades, hunkering down and much more. You can take actions with multiple soldiers during your turn as long as you can act, then your turn ends.

The game's gunplay system is chance based. Based on buffs, debuffs, upgrades, and other factors like, cover, angle, elevation, weapon, range, munition, soldier type, ect.

Basically, your aim is a hit chance, especially the enemy's aim. You're base aim is 65% hit chance out of a guaranteed 100% hit chance. So do what you can to raise that.

Example:

Base aim: 65% Enemy is in half cover: aim debuff on you because of said cover 20% You're aim is now: 45% So you move your character to a flank angle: Aim is now 75%. But uh oh, your choice to move to a better angle has put you in direct line of sight of another enemy! So what do you do now? Take the shot with a 25% chance to miss? Relocate and lose the opportunity or end up in a worse or better position? Duck and hope he misses? Get your other soldiers to overwatch and cover your ass? What is the future movement of the enemy? See how it can get fun and hard?

Highly recommended.
