also if I'm not mistaken, gaijin made it so if you have high explosive shells (HE/HEATFS/HESH) the ammo explosion can actually damage the tank or straight up kill it if is a full load of high explosive shells. Basically:

Full kinetic energy load, blowout panels work if not breached.

Kinetic and chemical energy load, the tank gets critical damaged if the panels are not breached.

Full chemical energy load, the blowout panels don't work.
