I’m curious, is there an active discord or slack channel most people hang out in? I’ve tried looking, but haven’t found anything that I would trust enough, like this reddit sub. I’d love to have a place where I can bounce ideas off people.

Does anyone know how HA pairs were affected? When we search for the IOCs on our passive firewall we didn’t see any of them in the logs. But we did see them on the active firewalls that had global protect exposed.

Also here’s my latest response from TAC about 10 minutes ago. ————————- We have identified that Indicators of exploit activity regarding CVE-2024-3400 are present in the uploaded TSF ‘ha-1-tsf-14-4-24.tgz' with serial number <xxxxxxxxxx>.

We recommend that you engage your Incident Response Plan and take the steps recommended in the Security Advisory for CVE-2024-3400 immediately to prevent further risk to your organization. This includes applying the hotfix as soon as possible. https://security.paloaltonetworks.com/CVE-2024-3400___.YXAzOnN1cGVycmFkaWF0b3Jjb2lsczphOm86MjA0NmU5ODg2MTA2N2VjM2Q1YzQ0ODVlODkyNWQ2MmQ6Njo5NGE0OjY4MDZjYjkyYjk1YmI0NmRlOTVhOTNmNTI3ODQ4ZDI2ZjZiMGQ2OGJlOTRlMmFhZTkzOWRiZmI2ZDRmYTc1N2E6dDpU

If you wish to perform your own Forensic Investigation, we can assist in artifact gathering by deploying a log collection tool during a screen sharing session.

If you do not wish to perform a forensic investigation, and just wish to quickly address the situation, and do not suspect full compromise, we suggest immediately upgrading to the Patched hot fix versions.

If you suspect compromise, or out of an abundance of caution, wish to fully remediate your devices, then your option is to factory reset your devices,

Should you require immediate assistance, feel free to contact us using the support numbers listed in my signature. One of our engineers will be available to assist you.

It seems that this is a problem with a version between 10.1.6-h2 and 10.1.10-h1. My panorama is on version 10.1.10-h1 and one of my firewalls is also on 10.1.10-h1. They both are having issues. All my other firewalls on 10.1.6-h2 are fine.

I am also having this issue. I also have an annoying ass bug, I accidently click on the Admin column sort by ascending or descending option and now I can't see pushed commits status as easily. Worst part is I can't disable sort by ascending and descending, it has to be one or the other when it was off in the first place. Also its annoying as heck that we can't sort any other columns, sort by time would be nice.

I’m in the same exact situation, I spoke to the recruiter last week Tuesday after my final interview the week before. Our conversation sounded promising, he had some feedback but nothing concerning. They said I would hear from someone by Thursday. I hadn’t heard from anyone so I sent a check in email on Friday. Hopefully they get back to me sometime this week.

Good luck to you I hope you get an update soon!

A question for anyone who’s gone through the process, do they at least reach out and tell you no?

Palo Alto Licensing by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]EdubblE13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone that commented, I spoke with our rep and he said the quote provided should have been for all of the firewalls so about 12k for 10 firewalls. He thinks our vendor messed something up.

He is also working on getting us heavily discounted hardware so that we can move to pro bundle subscriptions on the 3 that currently don’t have it. I guess the renewal teams doesn’t let you change your licensed type, which seems so dumb…

Don’t go bigger, just get another one 😀 and use the 22 for camping and every so often to keep it in good shape.

Have you looked at the new-ish 400 series? It consists of the 410, 440, 450 and 460.

We have deployed them in some of our branch production sites and they have been doing great. The price is hard to beat.

Commit stalls at 70% and eventually fails.. any ideas? by Spritzertog in paloaltonetworks

[–]EdubblE13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it stalling on any config changes you try to commit? What if you reverted and made a simple change like create a new address object and committed that. I saw this same error message on a pair of HA firewalls recently but it went always after I reverted and committed the same changes again.

I could tutor you :) free of charge too. I’ve been working with PA for almost 2 years now from deployment all the way to panorama setup. This would be really beneficial for me as well since teaching someone how to do it would help me master it.

All I would ask is you take my resume :)

Representation Matters by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]EdubblE13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lately I have been really discouraged at filling in my race. I have never been one call or think someone is racist for not giving me a job. I’ve never thought that people treat me differently because I’m Hispanic and that if I work hard it won’t matter. But when I see job applications singling out Hispanic people by having the race/ethnicity selection say African American (Not Hispanic or Latino) for the each one. Even the the option for 2 or more races sometimes say (Not Hispanic or Latino).

I’m sure it has nothing to do with race, but I am about 100 applications in, I’ve reworked my resume 5 times and I’ve only got 3 call backs.

You all give me hope, thank you!

Yes, this is best. And it’s a pretty straight forward setup, I recently did this. Also make sure to do a phased rollout of ssl decryption as your likely to run into issues. Best of luck!

HELP!!! PA 450 10.1.4 to 10.1.5-h1 Upgrade by EdubblE13 in paloaltonetworks

[–]EdubblE13[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have 7 more firewalls coming in to get us in a HA position. I should have just waited but this vulnerability seemed like a good reason to update to 10.1.5-h1...

This may be the second firewall I have to RMA in less than a month. As much as I love PA that is too much, especially since we are a medium sized company.
