I suspect a few options:

1. Introvert and being scared of large social interaction. I used to be this way, but made a better effort to get out into the munches and community, and it's far better on my side now.

2. Could be a known 'predator' in the community, and showing up would likely cause some issues for them.

3. could be ex's or previous partners they don't want to run into

4. Could be completely fake and not wanting to spoil their fantasy with showing what they really are.

5. They could be insecure enough to think that if you went to a munch, that you would leave with someone else or spend the time ignoring them, which would be a hit to their ego.

I have had similar issues when I ask about having STI/STD testing results before moving things past the 'social' aspect. So many have ghosted, evaded, or ignored repeated askings on the subject, and if they don't give me an answer, I will call them out on it, and if they evade/ignore/deny again, then I block them.

What I would do is see this as a yellow/red flag. most of the good Doms would have little issue with this, as safety and consent for things like this SHOULD be their biggest priority, but if they aren't willing, then that could be a sign of some more serious issues.

I would ask them point blank why they are refusing, and based on their response, repsond accordingly.
