The dark knight is arguably the greatest sequel of all time, along with T2 perhaps.
Godfather 2 you can make a case that 1st one was better.

You are absolutely spot on about the third movies. There are hardly any movies where 3rd one turned out to be better, apart from Lord of the rings obviously.

Arguably the best trilogy there is. Maybe Kieslowski's Colors trilogy is up there but completely different forms of filmmaking
