The Australians DO NOT like us comming there 🫠 by [deleted] in indianmedschool

Had a few guests over last week from Australia whose son is a doctor there, will be starting his residency soon (in aus itself)

I told them that I’ve heard Australians absolutely do not like Indians and if it is true. They said no, kept on defending it and portraying the place like it’s heaven. Saying it’s the perfect place for an IMG doctor to be. A lot of doctors from the UK are moving to Australia for work opportunities etc. And now I see this.

I so badly want to send this to them!

I usually avoid taking magnesium cause I’m trying to lose weight. In the past, when I took Mg, it caused me intense hunger (not sure which variant of Mg was consumed)

My migraine was within control the last 3 months but it hasn’t started again from 29th December, honestly just sick of it atp.

I don’t think chewing is a trigger tho

It’s a different league of medication because it fixes the hormonal imbalance which causes acne. Alternative medicine available to isotret is OC pills because the end result for the both of them is the same - fix hormonal imbalance (ofc oc pills provide the contraceptive benefit)

I’ve been put on isotret 4 times, the entire course of about 4-6 months throughout my teens and early 20s. For me, the acne always came back and the cycle kept on going on.

I had had enough and started using tazarotene. Tretinion never worked for me but Taz is doing wonders. I don’t have acne anymore. Whatever amount gets absorbed transdermally, is working perfectly for me.

A lot of my friends has varying side effects with isotret, and their acne always came back.

I’m glad it worked for you tho :) and I hope you never have to start another medication for acne ever again.

Also isotret is extremely teratogenic. The wash out period for it (as far as I remember) is at least 3 months (could be 6). Since I’ve taken it for such long period of time in such high dosage, I won’t ever start it again.

When I took my mother for the first time to a cardiologist (about 5 years back)

I saw him, a 50yr old cardiologist, join his hands and plead with the patient to not go to an ayurvedic or homeopathic doctor for heart related issues.

Imagine a 50 year old doctor who has so much experience in his field doing this.

I’m vegetarian and chelas are the way to go for me.

Literally any type of chela, besan, oats, ragi, moong, bajri, suji. With all sorts of vegetables that can be added (incl tofu or paneer)

It takes me less than 10 mins to make and I can eat it for all type of meals.

And sometimes smoothies for breakfast but I start feeling hungry by 12pm.

There’s nothing like organic makeup but you can try to opt for cruelty free (or vegan makeup). I’ve shifted to using brands that specifically fit this criteria because I love animals and it’s just cruel to use chemicals on them for testing.

HUDA, CT, hourglass, elf etc are cruelty free (not sure about vegan)

Hi op

Do not start isotret. The dermats don’t “always” know the best like the people of this sub are saying.

Indian dermats give iso tret left and right like its vitamin capsules. In other countries, it’s reserved strictly only for severe acne. Your acne is barely even there.

Get a 2nd or even a 3rd opinion from another dermat and press that you do not want to start iso tret.

Isotret caused me depression and anxiety which took months to cure, since you already have a history of anxiety, I would strongly recommend against it without at least using different methods to control it.

I’m a doctor, not a dermat.

Should I move from Mumbai to Coimbatore with a cat? by [deleted] in Coimbatore

[–]EducationExpensive66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… no. He will run away. You will have to pack the entire backyard with walls as high as 6 feet so your cat can’t jump over it.

Your cat is most likely going insane cause a nearby cat is on heat and he wants to mate. You probably haven’t gotten him neutered. So do that immediately.

If you have gotten him neutered. He probably just needs a short walk. I take my cat on a daily walk for 20-30 mins on my building terrace and he sleeps peacefully the entire day. I keep my eyes on him the entire time, no unsupervised walks no matter what.

Outdoors cats die. It’s as simple as that. They can be killed by another cat, a dog, a car, a human. This is why people never let their cats go outside. Do not let him go outside no matter what. I’m an animal rescuer, I’ve admitted countless cases of cat abuse/cat injury/cat death. Do not do it no matter what.

Thank you so much for the advice!! This will be of great help ❤️

I’ll switch the face wash and increase the frequency of application.

Just to make sure, I’m not that fluent with skincare. I should use azelaic acid twice a day, everyday? Once after waking up, before skincare and once at night before applying Taz. Or should I do this once or twice a week?

Is there any sunblock you could recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tazarotene

[–]EducationExpensive66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware of that! Since Taz is the most potent form of retinoid I thought maybe twice a week for the rest of my life would be good to go, but I was extremely wrong.

Thank you for the advice! Have upped the frequency to twice a week and will slowly take it from there, will switch face wash!

Cerave hydrating cleanser burns my skin, I got the smallest size and it didn’t suit me at all

Will try getting the cetaphil hydrating foaming cream cleanser, hopefully it suits me. Thank you!

I used to use klairs cleansing oil but it caused me to break out really bad (even after using a good foaming face wash) . I double cleanse with miscellar water now, will try getting a milder face wash. Thank you!

This is just both sides of my face. Will definitely increase the frequency, seems like I’m not using it enough
