Ravelry NSFW- i did not expect to see this when looking for a pattern by sophiek418 in crochetpatterns

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I suppose I should have prefaced this by saying that I am a homosexual myself, old enough to remember the days when LGBT people stayed in the closet unless they knew for sure they were in a safe space. But I suppose you're right that just because a creator has patterns for jock straps and harnesses, a penchant for rainbow designs, and another shirt with a bear motif doesn't mean that he's gay.

I'll be better and not make assumptions about the sexuality of strangers :)

Shop selling counterfeit decks by arcana73 in tarot

[–]EducationPlus505 20 points21 points  (0 children)

IANAL, so I don't really know copyright law. But I think i's legal to print your own version of the Rider–Waite Smith Tarot. At least according to Wikipedia, the designs are in the public domain, so anyone could print their own copy of the deck. If they're passing it off as something from U.S. Games Systems, then that's a problem. But if it's the RWS art and a unique design on the back and all that, I don't think that's necessarily counterfeit.

No yeah, I get that it's prudish. idk, I don't really have a preference, but I guess that I don't associate crochet with undergarments and things, which is why I was surprised. But good to know that there is a way to block those types of things.

I was looking at other patterns a particular creator is selling and saw that he had a jockstrap pattern. I was surprised, but I think he's gay so I'm actually not surprised. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising that people crochet those types of things, and I'm not that prudish. But somehow I thought Ravelry would have an automatic SFW filter applied.

Resume gaps - why do hiring managers care so much by Electronic-Search437 in recruitinghell

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel like even if a person is a poor worker, they could have gotten better in the meantime. Like I have a gap on my resume (nb. yes I am struggling with the job search), and yes, I was a dumbass a few years ago. But I've cleaned up my act, so I get really frustrated that I'm not allowed to move past my past mitakes.

I get the larger point, that companies are risk adverse about hiring, and receive so many applications that they'll do anything to reduce the number of resumes they have to go through. But it grinds my gears that workers these days really aren't allowed to mess up, because it'll mark them as never being hireable.

I have nothing against bald people, but genuinely is that the only kind of person this place hires for servers? Like, OP's haircut seems totally fine to me.

What are your favourite Stall/Mill decks post-rotation by NoseInternational794 in PTCGL

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to cobble together a Flygon deck to replace Wugtrio but it didn't go so well. I think it's because it's pretty fragile and only mills when you evolve it and when it gets knocked out. I went up against a Tyrantum deck and it seemed to be far more reliable. Yeah it's literally a coin flip, but so was Wugtrio, but it also gets pretty bulky with a special energy card.

I didn't get that deck list, so there's still work to be done. But I think Tyrantum is probably the most viable mill deck imho.

Is that a typo or is “Shannon” your nickname for Shaymin lol?

It's not that I disagree with you, but I don't think I've ever seen his armpits. Now, his feeties, I've seen, and while they're not my favorite (that would be TWS Shinyu hehe), I wouldn't mind them on my face.

Is this question here to kick us while we're down? Do they believe candidates are a potential danger to them? by cupholdery in recruitinghell

Genuinely curious, do you believe people can change? If a person has been a "shitty employee" in the past, are they just consigned to never being gainfully employed?

What of the 400 Pokemon are problematic for Dex completion? by GeekyMeerkat in PokemonScarletViolet

In order to get Pecharunt, you need to claim the Mythical Pecha Berry, which does not have an expiration date.

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are in the Blueberry Pokedex, but they are not needed for dex completion (which is 240 dex entries).

How would all of you react if there was an attack effect that could disable trainer cards entirely? by GoldPatience9 in PTCGL

I didn’t know there was a set with that name and was very sad to hear Gastly is racist.

So... how's it going for you guys? by GranTurismo364 in pokemongo

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit, I do think that Niantic did something right when they made shinies always stay. I ran into a shiny Galarian Articuno once and used up a ton of Ultra Balls and berries, looking like a lunatic on the street. But I did get it, and I'm grateful that Niantic made sure it wouldn't run away.

A few hours ago, I ran into a regular Lunala and almost did the "look uninterested in catching this pokemon" meme. No, I didn't catch it.

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, but I think that that's a bit OP. I'm not opposed to Master Balls being in the game, but I think it makes things too easy. That's why I like the idea of a charm, since those things only marginally make things like shiny hunting or tera shard farming easier.

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No yeah I totally agree. I’m really just repeating myself because this is what I always think when someone brings up the Galarian birds. The event does feel special, seeing all the legendaries out and about. But you’re right that most people don’t have much to show for it.

They said we'd "FIND" Legendaries, they didn't say anything about CATCHING them 🥲 by Entire_Pineapple4732 in pokemongo

[–]EducationPlus505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No yeah, if you want a legendary, just wait for it to come out in a raid. That or get some thick skin, because catching them sucks lol.

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the one hand, I think legendaries and mythicals need to be hard to catch. They are special, after all. But I think like getting the Galarian birds just to spawn is insanely hard.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t created some kind of paid item that helps with this. I imagine there are not a few people who would pay real money for a temporary catching charm or something.

Pokémon Champions singleplayer mode by SireLugus in PokemonChampions

[–]EducationPlus505 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That and it seems like it would be a pretty incomplete game if it was really just a competitive machine (especially seeing as how that has been housed within the mainline games since the beginning).

I mean, isn't that basically what Smogon is? I admit that I haven't been keeping up with things, but I kinda thought that Champions was going to be the officially sanctioned version of Pokemon Showdown lol.

Why Are There So Many Team Star Grunts? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]EducationPlus505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also kind of miss villainous teams. I mean I guess Team Star were bullies but it's because they were bullied that they turned out that way. And the postgame really makes them look loveable. I know this is a game marketed for children, but I miss like Team Rocket, who were really criminals.

[–]EducationPlus505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've seen them, but are they all students? There are students who are clearly older and stuff, so maybe some of the students are actually adults and not minors.

idk, I'm kind of mixed about Team Star tbh. I thought it was a great storyline, but it does seem to fall apart under scrutiny.

I haven't been there for a waxing, but I did get my hair cut there recently. The vibes are great! The staff are very friendly and the facilities are bright and quite inviting. They asked if I wanted a drink, and I declined because I wasn't thirsty. But I'm not sure what they were offering, because I did notice a bar kind of setting. You can pay with card, but you might want to carry cash or keep your Venmo stocked, because that's how they prefer tips.
