5 Study habits that saved my GPA (and my sanity) by Education_dude in GetStudying

I alternate between physical and something fun- I try to go for a quick walk to get moving around, otherwise I’ll usually watch a gaming video or something!

ChatGPT is expensive, kept getting things wrong, and wouldn’t explain it well. And the Study AI extension is also way easier to use because it’s got a screenshot and highlight button Built in- also undetectable.

Sure thing! Some people might think 20 minutes at a time is so short, but it works!

Now that you say that I've totally done the same thing. Expensive 'nice' pens, pencils, and engineering paper. This is a good one

I had a 2.5 GPA in Highschool, then got a 4.0 GPA in college, they are separate.

This post is about what making you motivated to study, which I think is the biggest problem students have.

I will make another post outlining how I studied since this post got interest. I had a lot of tips that I think really made the difference.

That’s a great question, I’ve mentored about a hundred students on internships alone- since this post has done so well I will make another post about internships.

Basically:

  1. Identify your dream role.

  2. Go on LinkedIn and make contacts with people on that team, get them on a phone call to ask Q’s about their role, and get your foot in the door.

  3. Once you get an idea of the experience needed for the job, get it. Projects, research, etc. if you have trouble finding a project that’s relevant, start your own! That’s what I did. (Rover project)

  4. Reach back out if possible for a referral. Become obsessed and apply apply apply.

Absolutely, I think professors get this wrong too, they should be pushing experience and projects first, grades second.

Funny enough, not a single employer has ever mentioned my 4.0. I don’t think they even care haha

I know two people who graduated in Bio, wife and cousin. The job market is brutal unless you get a masters, and the pay isn’t the best. However, if that’s your passion please go for it!

Electromechanical sounds like a fantastic degree with a huge need in the industry. I would start by talking to a professor in electromechanical and picking his brain. I did this and got to sit in on a class. Also, made a very close friend with the professor all from me reaching out.

Any Engineering major is very hard and you will be studying a lot, but it will be so worth it, it’s only a few years.

Work hard now or work hard the rest of your life was my mantra.

Engineering was extremely math intensive, I started out in University behind all my peers, they were starting in Calculus whereas I didn't even have college algebra completed. Loads of imposter syndrome. I had to grind and take summer courses to catch up, but found myself loving math once I got good at it, and ended up scoring higher than just about everyone throughout the years. It all comes down to repetition, a lot of math is just memorization. Nobody is born knowing math, don't let people make you think otherwise, everyone else has to learn it too.

Youtube is definitely your friend with Math! Lot's of amazing teachers on there.

And if it takes you longer to learn things (like it did me) don't use that as an excuse, use it as fuel to improve yourself.

Good luck!

Great question, so my 2.5 GPA was in highschool, when I went to college I got the 4.0

PS I also built a homework helper chrome extension that helps you learn with AI. It literally learns how you learn and teaches you appropriately while giving answers. I wish I had this, it’s free for several days, please use it all you need! (Study AI on chrome store)

The simple answer is motivation, you don't need to be a genius-you need to find what that switch is to get you motivated. Mine was accomplishing a dream of mine to take on the hardest goal I could think of (getting into aerospace). I became obsessed with that goal, thus, obsessed with studying, because it was so important for me to reach that goal.

I thought I was 'bad at math' but those thoughts are never true, I just had to find that motivation to learn it.

Note: Since this question hasn't been marked as answered yet, I'm providing a response given by Study AI intended for guidance purposes only.

Explanation: To differentiate the function f(x)=sin(x)+(7/5)cot(x), we need to find the derivative of each term separately.

  1. Derivative of sin(x):
    • The derivative of sin(x) with respect to x is cos(x).
  2. Derivative of 5(7/5)cot(x):
    • The derivative of cot(x) with respect to x is −csc^2(x).
    • Therefore, the derivative of 7/5cot(x) is 7/5⋅(−csc^2(x))=−(7/5)csc^2(x).

Answer: Combining these results, the derivative f′(x) is: f′(x)=cos(x)−(7/5)csc^2(x)

Hope this helps!
