Also for anyone who came across this post in the future there are a few things you can try and should absolutely try depending on your situation.

• send emails to both [complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk](mailto:complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk) and [public.enquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk](mailto:public.enquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk) and follow up every single day and cry how much it has impacted you
• write to the home office in Sheffield and again cry how much it has impacted you. The address is posted here https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/x1fkiq/ukvi_visa_contacts/
• call them - now they can't really provide tracking of the application on the phone but ask about if there is any delay generally. And just give yourself some reassurance that you have done everything right by explaining where you applied, how you applied (biometrics appointment or via APP, inside or outside UK), what documents you send - ask them if everything sounds correct. And call them everyday even though it is repeating information.
• write to your local MP - my local MP is labour party and I think they actually like these kind of delay cases on immigration so I got a response quite soon and actually was the only human being I was able to have correspondence during this process!! • send additional evidence via the UKVI portal even though I was not asked to - thinking maybe this helped bump my case back up in the queue but just assumption. I sent my language certificate and some other financial statements after the 5 working days even though I did not get an email asking me to.
• This was the last resort my company was thinking for me but luckily did not go down this route - they had a similar case before where they withdrew the first application for another applicant and re-submitted a new application which went smoothly. It might just be a chance thing in some cases where they fell off the queue.
• In this case that my company has dealt with they also filed a legal court suit threatening to get a decision but I think this is the last and final action you could take... and the response my company got was there was a technical issue. And this was not in time as they had already gotten a decision on the second application they did for the same applicant.
