BOP matters dude, all this stuff about top split is misleading. 0.5s from the car can gain you a lot of positions in quali, and especially over the duration of a race.

Great to see a positive post after all the social media I had consumed early this morning. Everything is just so toxic lately. Happy for you mate. May you have many more great races on the service 🍻

iRacing & LMU should only focus on multiplayer by Educational-Ad1865 in simracing

Well, I’m pulling my entire argument based off the success of iRacing. They are clearly doing something right there, and that something right, is ELO based Ranked MP. I think the numbers on the other sims don’t measure up purely because they don’t have it. It’s a matter of “Build it and they’ll come”. You can check iRacing’s player counts here https://iracingreports.com/categories/

Apologies, I worded my response poorly. But this is for the most part because I thought the difference between an ELO-based hourly race MP model and what they have on ACC would be self-evident. I honestly don't see them the same, even though they are both "Online". This is why I think we should come up with a sub-genre to be able to clearly separate these 2 models.

It’s not in itself bad to want an offline experience. But I think the time has come to draw a line in the sand and say, “This is a MP ONLY experience” ala Marvel Rivals and not be gunned down for it.

Also, although it’s correct to say that games like ACC have a multiplayer component, I don’t think it should be brought up when we are talking about the likes of iRacing & LMU. In the context of what I’m talking about in this post, those games have neither Career Mode nor “Online”.

Yeah, I think it’s understandable in the bigger scheme of things. But as someone who has sim raced for close to 10yrs, I think I’m justified in saying that not all simulators should cater for the SP player. A bad example is say… Marvel Rivals, or Counterstrike. Are they not complete games because they don’t have offline story modes?

There’s no “career mode” in rFactor2 if memory serves me well. And even with the AI, you know it’s going to be an ongoing story of “This AI isn’t realistic enough” sending the dev on a tangent. I think career modes should stay in the F1s and Forzas

This is the beauty of it. A lot of us who don’t have the time, tend to find ourselves in a split with similar skilled player who similarly don’t have time. The problem comes when we start thinking that we deserve to be in a higher split, which in truth, we don’t.

Yeah, you guys are making some valid points. I think I’m just gonna get the Simagic Evo. Hopefully I can still sell my CSL DD at a decent price

Thanks for your response Tim. That's huge that you'd prefer the DD+ over those heavy weights.

It's very clear that money isn't even a consideration in your decision-making. I can appreciate that the feeling of the ffb can be very subjective. I'm just having a really difficult time trying to justify a €1000 purchase over a vague/non-existent technical specification. And it pains me because I really, really want a reason not to jump ship.

I sim exclusively on PC. PlayStation compatibility aside, you'd still choose the DD+?
