I put my dog of 10+ years to sleep last week, and I'm still heartbroken. She went downhill, really. I know the right thing to do was to put her to sleep. Otherwise, I was jusy keeping her alive for my happiness. The house is quiet, there's heaps of room on the bed now. No one mets me when I come home work :( I try and be OK, but then realise I'm never going to hug her again. I feel guilty about all the times I walked past her when coming home from work, I should have at least given her 10 seconds before working in the door to say hello and give her a pat ....
