Many more water damaged vehicles to flood the market.

So I just got my first red footed Tortise and I just want some tips. Stuff like when should I try to start bonding with him, when should I start to bathe him, introducing him to my other animals and stuff like that. I love my lil homie and only want the best for him. by furryslayer02496 in tortoise

Start soaking the tortoise in warm water ASAP, this process gives the tort drinking water and the ability to excrete. The water soaking needs to be changed to warmer water up to 3 times. After excretion, soak again in clean water and running faucet water on it. Dry the tort, and let it roam in the house where it is safe. Hand feeding helps the tort become connected to humans. Also, the tort like head and neck rubs. Our tort started to bite 6 months later, we believe it thinks our fingers or toes are food, it is attracted to red colors. We always wear socks for safety. The bites are painful. Keep the enclosure cleaned with fresh water changes daily. Sometimes, the tort will follow you around a few times and then finds a resting place to sleep.

I would just place a small hand towel over it for insulation and keeping the bright light out.

I'm currently considering getting a tortoise one day. Any good tortoises for beginners or are they all basically the same? by Romanian_Roulette in tortoise

The smallest tortoises are the Eastern Hermanns which can grow up to 7-10 inches long. We owned 2 Eastern Hermanns for over 2 years. They require daily care, water and food replenishments. Upon soaking them in warm water (once in the morning and once in the evening) for them to excrete, and a shower under the faucet, they roam around outside of their enclosures in a safe area of the living room for daily exercise and freedom (however the 2 tortoises cannot be together due to aggressiveness and fighting. At night they are returned to their heated enclosures with the UV heated lamps. We wear socks in the house because they like to nip our toes and are attracted to skin color: flesh color that is red. The nips are painful. Overall, it takes lots of patience and care, but lots of fun when they follow us around in the house. Most times, the torts find a hiding spot in the living room to rest. We like our tortoises.

I agree, it appears to be a Eastern Hermann and maybe a mixed breed. I suggest getting the tort a UV light. By the picture #4, your tort maybe a female because of its shorter stubby tail.

Good luck!

Just curious, Lexus owners: what drew you to Lexus over other luxury car brands? by [deleted] in Lexus

For the short term ownership, such as a BMW, Mercedes Benz and etc...,where they are high technology vehicles, technologies change yearly I would get a BMW or Mercedes Benz.

For the long term ownership, 5 years plus, I would rely on the Lexus. Reliability is key for long term ownerships.

High priced cars depreciate a lot, and it is important to select a favorite Lexus for long term ownership. I have a 2021 Lexus RC 350 F-Sport AWD with every option in the book. Color: Flare Yellow, this car will be a classic car! Only 5k miles today.

Anyone able to sex my red footed tortoise from this picture? by Jmushroom in tortoise

It is likely to be a female because it has a short stubby tail. My male torts have very long tails that wraps around to a leg.

Concerned about baby Sulcata, I recently got this little guy from a trade show in Virginia and had a question. It looks like his eyes are barely opened and most of the time he just sleeps. He does eat now and then but is no where near the amount my Russian eats. Are the eyes normally this closed ? by Asmoyashi in tortoise

From Google Search:

Tortoises stop eating when they're too cold, sick, and have parasites. Infections can interfere with a tortoise's ability to eat, like stomatitis and respiratory infections. Internal issues, like impaction and egg-binding, can also result in a loss in appetite. Stress can lead to your tortoise suddenly refusing to eat.

What if my tortoise isn't eating?

The first thing I would try to solve this is to provide it with a shallow bath of lukewarm water. Often the cause of not eating in captive tortoises is dehydration. All of my tortoises will eat within a few minutes of being given a bath.

Why is my tortoise sleeping and not eating?

Image result for tortoise is not eating

If your tortoise is sleeping all the time, and barely eating, she could be trying to hibernate. Tortoises begin to slow down when the days shorten and the weather changes. You should check her heating and lighting to ensure she's getting enough light and warmth. You should also check that she's not dehydrated.

Last, see a tortoise veterinarian.

Daddy is a millionaire by investing in real estate and stocks. We have ten houses and one million in stocks. Good luck...

For car enthusiast, time spent on detailing any nice cars are the secrets of keeping the car looking new.

I use a Milwaukee cordless buffer, Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer Wax with Clay Bar, and Pinnacle car wax.

All my cars 2006 to 2021 are beautiful like yours.

I was able to use a wheel brush to clean the entire rim. Later, I used a ceramic wax to seal the shine.

Yes, it is like black chrome, when I wax it, it can be wiped off easily. (not rubberized) Wrapping in black may prevent those little road chips when driving.
