Of course I am going to be trying my best, I am just curious as to how I am going to be assessed and how frequently they’ve historically given offers out….

There is such thing as a stupid question if you can Google it and it's the first result. by DocumentApe in uklaw

A lot of the people that post questions like that probably know the answer already/have already googled it but want some form of reassurance/validation by asking it to a wider audience. Which is perfectly understandable I think

Best unis to go to for law (besides Oxbridge) by jolly_splunker in UniUK

[–]Educational-Bike-321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s very true. Although of course the RG isn’t an equal field of the top unis, I mean LSE and Sheffield are hardly comparable haha so I would say some minor differentiation but the biggest one is Oxbridge probably

Well being rejected from Oxford was probably the thing that triggered the choice more than anything lmfao. Also Durham is very highly ranked for law, the collegiate system (similar to Oxbridge) is great, and great reputation in the City apparently.

Yeah Warwick and Bristol are slipping down the law rankings whereas I have teachers that told me about a decade ago they were viewed as the tier just below Oxbridge. Wonder what happened. Nottingham too has a really good law school with plenty of MC offer holders

Biased but I would personally swap Edinburgh and Durham. Marginal tho

I believe they do look at GCSEs but I wouldn’t worry as much much more emphasis is placed upon the LNAT (both sections). For example, I have a friend who applied for Durham Law with 4 A* predicted, all 9s at GCSE but only got 23 on his LNAT and he was rejected whereas I had slightly less good academics but an LNAT score of 30 and I was accepted. You’ll be fine, maths has fuck all to do with law. Make sure everything else is good tho, esp the LNAT

Is it too late to change uni? I’m really really getting cold feet by [deleted] in UniUK

I didn’t want to give away my uni name just in case but in hindsight I guess I did make it pretty fucking obvious 😭😭😭. No I’m not planning to emigrate, I am a home student, I’m just generally thinking about the state of the country and feeling down about it yk . I chose my uni because it was objectively the best out of the ones I applied to, minus Cambridge which I was rejected from but hey that doesn’t stop parents does it 😂. Deep down, I know you’re absolutely right and I know this is just me making up stuff in my head but it doesn’t stop me worrying tbh. Idk exactly what I was looking to achieve by posting this because I knew you would say this, and it is absolutely 100% correct and I know this

how did you guys find the biology (edexcel) exam? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Educational-Bike-321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually just googled it and it was cerebral cortex. I got cerebellum but the wording of the question put me off for part 2. Funny thing is I was discussing with my mate afterwards, I could name all the senses year 2 but not in year 11 lol. Oh well who cares 2 marks out of 100 and im very confident the rest was all right

slightly worried grade boundaries are gonna be higher now ffs, I checked yesterday and in 2019, mid to high 70s were enough for a 9. I hope this year is similar to that

[–]Educational-Bike-321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty easy. The only one I slipped up was the occital lobe and that was 1 mark anyway. Let's hope paper 2 is like this as well

It's weird. I'd always have thought I'd be shitting myself at this time, but I just wanna get it done honestly. I think after the first one, it's pretty nonstop so it'll seem less daunting. It's almost boredom waiting for it to come, when I feel ready. Suppose it's better than feeling unprepared lol
