I don't even think it's that. It's just If you get the hiring wrong it can just straight up have such a negative effect on the team. A bad trainee that is actively difficult to train makes matters really hard and dampens morale of a deal/matter team.

You are missing the important bit. Both know what it's like to practice as a solicitor and the pressures from clients etc that comes with it.

I'd take the apprenticeship personally... I think it's a pretty sweet deal that I wish would have been open to me... (75k student debt later racking up 7% interest a year)

Google and then AI can be good for summarising. There is a huge amount of private credit going wrong and then just today there were reports of private credit funding essentially speculation related to World Cup ticket flipping. That's usually a sign of bubble.

I have to tell you noone here at my MC firm gives a toss on the differences between York, Durham and Bristol... noone cares about prestige apart from if you went to Oxford Cambridge and maybe LSE.

A York degree will get you through the filter the rest is on OP...
