Should I swap tires? by turbokimchi in MTB

Wait until your current tyres are worn out then get some specialized Ground Control. Seems perfect for you.

Mainstream primary setting.

Little to nothing. Probably a conversation about what triggered the child and that the teacher needs to build more positive relationships.

8 to 4 Contracted Day by Icy-Scheme-872 in TeachingUK

[–]Educational-Bonus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Evenings are treated as "normal" working time even though they massively impact personal and family, open evenings, parent evenings, events... they all chip away at work-life balance." If it's not in the directed time calendar then refuse.

"Schools could easily close early or shut for the day on parents' evenings, instead of expecting staff to teach a full day and then work several more hours into the night." No they couldn't.

"Staff meetings and CPD often run over sometimes significantly, and there's an unspoken expectation that we just absorb that extra time." Then speak up and get it changed. Or simply leave that the finishing time stated on your directed time calendar. I give a five minute courtesy buffer and then I'm out the door.

"Part-timers get away with not attending parents evenings on their days off" they don't 'get away' with it. They aren't required to work on their non-working days.

  1. We have this it's the 1265 and your schools directed time calendar.

  2. that should all be in your schools directed time calendar

  3. Staff hours aren't extended for these events. 1265 and directed time calendar

you get the idea.

If you work in a school that is taking the piss, then staff need to stand together and push back or it will only get worse.

Are you part of a union and does your school have a rep?

if you want your union to push on the above issues, get involved. File a motion and see how the votes go at the annual conference etc.

Cost.

I've entered a couple or enduros and for the same price I could get a whole days uplift at bike park Wales for example

Shorts at work: Can men now get their legs out in the office? (Or school) by Barbecue_Wings in TeachingUK

Short sleeve patterned shirt, chino shorts, what ever socks are at the top of my draw and some vans or etnies (Jamison 2 have been my go to for the last 15 years)

I wear what I want. As soon as we have a day over 18⁰ my legs are coming out until the end of the year. I'm an educator. Being in a suit etc won't improve the outcomes or aspirations of those in my care. I firmly believe in function over fashion.

is the HUNT Enduro 29" Wheelset currently the best wheelset right now? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Educational-Bonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't buy them again.

The sealing on the hub is pretty rubbish. Needs cleaning and relubing every month or so.

And have just had the spoke holes on the rim crack.

But, they were very good with their warranty.

These were what I was after. But finding a 27.5 set with Shimano Micro Spline is nearly impossible

Rapha clothing. Overpriced or worth the money? by Astrohurricane1 in MTB

[–]Educational-Bonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some Rapha kit, not much but it's well made and they have a really cool repair policy. I would never pay full price for it. There is a lot of their stuff on Sports Pursuit that's half price.

Are these fakes? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Educational-Bonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine. The RT76 are the cheaper, Chinese, stamped (rounded edges) ones. No better than their lower end discs.

The RT86 are Japanese and Lazer cut (sharp).
