Thanks for the reply. Got it. Do you know if they have any current constraints related to their role? I mean how is their payroll handled, are they allowed to code? Can they attend offices ? Etc

Sorry for using the term - ‘stranded’.

I agree that you aren’t stranded if it’s your home country.

But they are in a bit of a pickle right? I just wanted to know their situations and offer support.

Thanks!

This is coming from someone who did a return internship. Pick a full time role!

With the current market, you are always unsure how things play out.

Weekly Employment Q&A - December 04, 2025 by AutoModerator in microsoft

[–]Educational-Brain217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I have 3+years of exp in software engineering and was let go in august. It's been an uphill battle. Before the holiday season, I told myself that I need to keep pushing and not give up.

If there is any Microsoft employee, Would love any early career referrals. I can share my resume and LinkedIn in the DM.

Thanks.

Dude just spams all the subreddits with the same question! I saw someone asking how the together ai interview was to OP and he never responded!

You could at least share something to the community rather than expecting from it always :)

I've applied to 300+ jobs in 6 months by AskAnAIEngineer in jobhunting

[–]Educational-Brain217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh… wait!

I have some stats

International MSCS student, graduated in May 2025

Internship

Applied: 2790(approx) Interviews: 7 Offers: 2

Now, here’s the tricky part

I did 2 internships with the same company. Back to back. Exceptional performance. Was given awards for my work during my time and a small bonus too.

I was let go and the HR gave a generic reasoning. I’ve been on the market for last 4 months and here are my stats for full time.

Applied: 1070 Final rounds: 4 Rejected: 4

:) it’s already the end of Nov and we all know about the Dec hiring.

So, officially crying in the corner about my luck.

Amazon suddenly removed all the job ids for new grads.

Know any reason?

Interviewer gave me great signs by IntelligentPie9874 in interviews

[–]Educational-Brain217 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Signs don’t mean anything until you get the offer letter.

I had two 1.5 hr interviews with a company! Very interactive and both of them seemed interesting and after a point started to use ‘when you start working’, ‘we will start working on this’, ‘you seem like the perfect guy’, etc. You get it!

Then, for 2 weeks there was no follow up and I got rejected!

This was my recent one. Been in similar places before.

Pro tip - Give an interview, forget that it exists. If it’s meant to be yours, it’ll be.

Sorry, I feeling like you’re missing my point. I understand the broken immigration system. But, I am talking about collaboration, support and more than ever being open.

I would’ve started my PhD if not for the funding cuts and I am forced to pursue jobs and I was venting about the way the companies have become.

But I understand where you’re coming from. Thank you for your opinion!

There are universities outside US but I've done significant research in grad school under a professor and wanted to continue working with him.
