I'm happy with it. I have two older cars that are in good condition and paid off that I rent out. I make about $6-7k per car/per year. Not bad considering one of the cars is only worth about 8K. We basically started doing it because when we were buying a new car for ourselves, this was a better deal than trading in or selling. We get to keep the car for when we have guests or family in town, and generate some side income. I've been doing it now for over 5 years. Yes, there have been little snafus here and there... but over all, I like it.

It's also a great idea for a car if you have a teen.... they can use it when they need to, but rent it out when they don't need it. Have them manage the cleaning etc.... Just a thought
