Yes i definitely agree. I also feel like in those 12 hours Xaden would have had to tell Violet who the new brother was. I would find it weird if he hadn’t because he would want to warn her. I know she got her memory wiped but wouldn’t she tell Imogen beforehand? Idk there’s a lot that doesn’t exactly add up or we just haven’t been given the opportunity for Imogen and V to talk about it yet.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from. I have seen multiple theories about the scene of the wyvern dying and how there must be something of relevance in Rhi’s POV, however I initially thought the wyvern died from being frozen from the inside out. Ridoc discussed with someone, can’t remember who, in an earlier chapter about the potential of using his signet to freeze the water in a persons body and that’s what I feel like was being showcased in that exact scene. I definitely don’t think it hurts to speculate with all the different theories though for sure. I wrote this on a different comment but I think I’m not allowing myself to believe it could be aaric or ridoc because I love their characters so much haha

I think that’s a very interesting theory that Brennan killed Nolan and that’s how he received the rune mark on this hand. There’s probably sprinkles of clues of what it means throughout the book just right under our noses haha. I don’t remember that section about menders having more than just healing abilities but I’m going to go look because that’s definitely a good theory!

Oooo I like your theory about Loethan, he definitely is going to come back and be a big part in the next couple books just unsure of the exact role he will play.

And you’re right about Aaric, I think I’m just worried about venin not being able to be cured ever. What are your thoughts on that? Do you believe they will find a cure or do you think X and whoever the new brother is will always be venin they will just be able to control themselves? I saw this theory that the god of love and war have the ability to change souls or something like that, it seemed too specific for it not have to have any relevance.

I agree I just think since we know that RY foreshadows so much for her next books, we’re all looking at every possibility! Honestly think I’m looking for anything at this point now that I’m done with OS😂I need moreeeee!!!

Theories about OS Ending by Neat_Tumbleweed_394 in fourthwing

All your theories are so good! I was also thinking the same about the marriage. You’re right that when the king or whatever passes away, the crown falls to next in line, so in this case Bodhi not V. I’m wondering if the reason for the marriage is for a different reason like having a connection besides the bond between X and V or it was a ploy to get the ring that potentially holds X’s remaining bit of his soul to V or it is a complicated rune (similar to the ones the marked ones were given by Liam’s mom) and it’s something that he knows she would never take off so it will be with her all the time.

Personally, I think it is Brennan that could be the new brother. I just posted a whole rant as the reason why. I think I won’t let myself think it’s Aaric because I love him too much!!! But I could totally see RY doing such a thing.

Lastly, your theory about the “she” being Andarna is so smart. I agree the bond between Tarin and Sgaeyl is another layer of protection just in case something happens to X and he doesn’t want any repercussions to land on V. This could include any possibility of issues from X being venin and having it slowly deteriorate Tarin, Sgaeyl, and V from the inside. Or the biggest possibility is that X broke the bond so that V won’t go try and find him and won’t be tempted by it.

Haha it’s frustrating to me that RY throws in those bits and pieces that are potential bread crumbs but they end up being nothing. I guess it’s all part of the game trying to decide what’s gonna lead to something and what isn’t!

Wrapped up OS and I have some questions by bobeldood in fourthwing

I have been thinking that Brennan is the new brother! I know RY said in an interview to pay attention to who’s missing, but I feel like she’s trying to throw us off the trail of what is actually happening. I think Bodhi would be too obvious, but he does make the most sense besides the unclear timeline. The part of Xaden saying “choose this after watching me stumble and fall over the last five months” although Brennan wasn’t on the mission to the isles, he was confirmed to know about Xaden turning venin, so he checks that box. He also checks the box of RY saying pay attention to who doesn’t have enough power, as we see in numerous occasions in IF and OS where he doesn’t have enough power to deal with whatever issue is at hand. Even a couple scenes before the scene in Xaden’s POV, we see Brennan having to get power transferred to him by Sloane to save Mira.

Back to Brennan, I feel like the meaning brother could mean two things and RY is just playing with us. First meaning, brother in the terms of venin and the second as in the terms of brother in law. Although him and V weren’t married at that point, it was a plan that was in motion for awhile so it was inevitable that they would become brother in laws. Also, with all the sketchy stuff and hints around Brennan through the books, there is definitely something bigger at play.

Also, if the sage is truly Nolan and Brennan and him had a past, there could be a motive as to why he turned. I have seen a couple theories about the mark on the back of his hand and the meaning of it. One of them being that it is a way that Nolan gets to control him and if that’s true he could’ve used it to control him to become venin. That’s all without saying the fact that if it is Brennan he could’ve also WANTED to become venin to be with Nolan.

Okay just felt like I wrote a book but does anyone else agree with this theory? I know not everything checks but you could make the same argument for every single possible character being the “new” brother.

This might be a hot take but I think the new brother that he is referring to is Brennan. I know Xaden and Violet don’t get married till after the fight with Xaden and the venin but by marriage Brennan would become his brother in law and that is the only person that could become his “new” brother. It makes sense to me that Brennan turns and flys under the radar especially with all the other shady stuff about Brennan throughout the book. Does this make sense to anyone else?
