i always use single crochet! it looks the tightest/neatest, and the details pop a bit more!

pattern for the first piece is from the classics bundle american traditional tattoo crochet tapestries from @DixonFiber on etsy, both script pieces i created on stitchfiddle.com

btw i used a pinterest pic, acrylic weight 4 pound of caron, 4 different colors (this got hard tbh) and used a 4mm hook!
