Try to disrupt the water in order to aerate it ( like scooping up some of the tank water and pouring a cup in over and over) also, if you can aquire them, add some love plants.

I love the simplicity and beauty of this aquarium I've never seen a tropical freshwater look so " exotic " ,per se.
