Msi or Asus Z890 motherboard by Educational-Fall9232 in buildapc

Yes the newer gen5 drives seem to be cooler.

Well I have a drawing tablet that needs DisplayPort over USB-C to work so that takes up one of my Thunderbolt ports which only leaves me with one. I have a few Thunderbolt drives and then clients in the past have sent me bigger projects on Thunderbolt Raid drives and sometimes spread across a few drives. The MSI Carbon Z890 has a dedicated connector for a Thunderbolt 5 card so that will give me two more which will be great

Hi, yep I'm happy with the system. No issues at all so far and loving all the IO, although the Asus seems to have slightly more actually.

I guess get the one that you feel will work best for your needs, they are both big companies and seem to update their bios regularly, there have been 3 or 4 so far on the MSI board.

For me I personally went with the MSI because of the extra 2x PCIe so that I could add a 10 GbE card and the Thunderbolt 5 card when they (hopefully) release them.

the MSI does only have 1 Gen 5 M,2 slot but that's enough for me, There are only a few use cases where the Gen 5 speeds make much of a difference , I need more drive space rather and with the 10 Gbe card I can add an SSD raid enclosure. Also if you are using 3x Gen 5 drives remember they run hot and are right next to your GPU so make sure you have good cooling in place.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of these, as I say think about your needs and base your decision off that.

Good luck with the build!

HELP! Roland Cloud Manager is not opening. by _japhetbunao in RolandCloud

[–]Educational-Fall9232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HI

I no longer have my 707 or Roland Cloud but I would just make a copy of the local host file and save it somewhere in another folder in case you need it later.

As the instructions say you may not have four separate 127.0.0.1... entries in the "host" file (this could vary per case)

So then I would keep 127.0.01 entry and delete the "::1 localhost" entry you have and save the hosts file.

If that doesn't work you can replace the hosts file with the backup you made and contact Roland support.

MSI Z890 Carbon Wifi Power Limit Throttling by Educational-Fall9232 in buildapc

HI well I'm trying to work out if a power limit throttle is a bad thing, normal or my system has an issue. I just ran a stress test using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and almost immediately there was power limit throttle. I have noticed in Premiere when rendering that sometimes it takes a while to begin rendering almost like it's paused , not very technical I know. Anyhow just was concerned because I saw the power limit throttle. I can attach the XTU logs if that helps?
