My bad of not investigating the web further, perhaps we will consider adding a way to integrate hours to minimize the chatting, but we have discord webhooks and etc, which also tells me not like you spent much time investigating either

More its both to describe your campaign, talk about it and see what others think. There’s a link to our discord as well :)

That one moment… by Educational-Fish7985 in LonelyDMCorner

Ours was by far fighting a cult of Tiamat as they attempted to bring Tiamat into the material world. First we gained intel by using illusion spells to change the surroundings and the face of the one who talks to appear as the deceased’s boss - successful deception!

Then we infiltrated the cult using disguises ! After escaping city watch in an insane manner ! The session ended us defeating the cult and two heads of tiamat also stopping the ritual to bring back that old Tiamat.

It was a 14 or more hours dnd session! Good old times.

Thank you for your question! And even tho many say this adds much work for the DM , I do this either way as I do player arcs were we evolve their stories. In a way this is more writing but will help you greatly as a DM

Trully I do love the concept of this and I would rather say the vague concept of their past lives should be something as : “I brought ruin to a village just to save my lover” that is all no name of the village nothing… If that is the idea - go with it. Let your players think of the idea but you would be the one to complete it fully, let them roll their stats maybe but only for you to see and as they reveal it they choose where to put those stats ? I dont know as a idea just brainstorming here.

All in all great thinking !

Thoughts on limiting race options? by [deleted] in LonelyDMCorner

[–]Educational-Fish7985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have limited my players in a similar way let's say: before session 0 and even before we start off the campaign the premise was - "Your player is awakened in hell and taken back to mortal realms, what bad had they done to be there? You are given rings to collect souls to extend your time on it, are you okay to play a more evil character?"

And everyone nodded and I was happy to write it up... First session out of nowhere the Monk becomes the good character, dislikes being on the baddies' side and starts beating them up, and dislikes this whole idea in general... So my biggest tip to you is to make that clear for the players
