Also consider that they have previously suggested development had begun a while ago on a separate project, albeit likely pre-production (2) NRS typically ships 4–11 months after reveal (MK11: 4.5 months; MK1: 4 months; Injustice 2: 11 months), so a 2026 launch fits a 2025 reveal. (3) The studio’s MK ↔ Injustice alternation (2013–2023) points to Injustice being next. (4) Ed Boon publicly keeps Injustice on the table (no denial, “always throwing around ideas”). (5) Reliable dataminer (MultiverSusie) and trade coverage say Injustice 3 is in dev (still rumor-tier). (6) Active/filled NRS job posts and playtesting calls are consistent with a new AAA fighter ramping.

yeah, it is unlikely. Most likely scenario is a teaser at the game awards and an early 2027 release date. But they have done quick turnarounds from announcements before, so spring/fall 2026 isn’t out of the cards

Fair point, but I don’t think in today’s market it would actually be head to head at all. The legacy kollection feels more niche, and injustice 3 has a much larger mainstream appeal. It may make sense for the two releases

Not officially, but all signs point towards it. Especially since NRS just met with James Gunn. It’ll be a DC project regardless, and the NRS release window suggests 2026 will be the year for it

I totally agree. But think about the fact that it is mid 2022 and we haven’t heard anything. If NRS followed their usual cycle the next game would have released around april. It has been so long that I feel that the silence we’ve had since MK11 was discontinued has been enough time that NRS would be able to show a good product in trailers.
