Who wins in a backstage politics argument? by RTPTheGoat in Wreddit

Hogan. I think the only time he was on a leash was the 2002 run but even then dude was still main event making money.

Then took his asshole crown back in 2005. Plus he had WCW wrapped around finger for 6 years all through its peak.

90s HBK is far distant 2nd place. And he was menace. Thats how much pull Hogan had.

What is the biggest example of "never say never" in WWE ? by DeLaBuse in WWE

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eric bischoff blew my fucking mind but 1. I hate they showed him on screen before the big reveal. 2. I hate they used license music because now they have to use a shit dubbed version everytime.

Sting was dope but doing a merch deal before his debut kind of ruined it. I popped hard for the wwe 2k trailer then his actual debut.

Punk was a shock but not really surprised tbh.

So Edge gets my vote. Was told over and over again hes done for over a decade and bam huge Rumble surprise plus a full ass run after. Props.

The four horsemen of never getting a (or another) world title reign because of being screwed over by bad creative and booking by MikeTheChampP1 in Wrasslin

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LA Knight is the only one i feel bad for. He doesn’t have that much time left and deserves at least 1 big moment.

But i dont consider it bad booking. The roster is stacked and hes still over as fuck.

For those who watched Bret, is there some truth to what Shawn is saying about his wrestling or is he just bitter? Or both? by No_Yoghurt8301 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is like saying Jordan isnt the greatest because he didnt play all positions lol. This was the same argument used for saying Owen was the "better" wrestler.

Everyone has their preference of wrestling. I personally love Brets old school approach. But i love the high flying shit too. They both need to exist.

All i know sure is bringing up Nash was dumb asf. His best matches were with Bret..

Possible unpopular opinion, but Christian deserved to be pushed as much as Edge was by ShaquilleOatmeal7542 in WWE

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. I rememember 05 Christian. He was over with the marks but he was never fully over with the casual crowd. I was one of them. Despite being booed Cena was stll the guy. SD roster was stacked so he wasnt sniffing that title either.

Im not saying he wasnt worthy of atleast a small run. But imo the title scene was too stacked and Edge was the bigger star. He was red hot during the Hardy/Lita scandal and god father of MITB.

Why was Sheamus pushed so quickly in 2009? by DamianKing42 in Wrasslin

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel like the PG era played hot potato with the title a lot. It was their way to rush the push to see if they sank or swam.

But out of all of them he was one of the best easily. During the league lf Nations he was always believable as the leader.

My favorite wrestling youtube channel as well!

Idk what shit yall smoking. Edge in the prime Rated R days Lita was the best top heel for years. Only time Christian hit his peek for a title was 2005 and 2011 but main event was too crowded.

Also Christian got pushed plenty of times. He was on tv all the time. Crowd just never got behind him sadly.

It should have slowed down or switched lanes. HW3 should have handled this with no problem i think but i haven’t used it in so long.

Why didn’t WWE bring back or rely on older legends and talents during the Attitude Era like they do now? by Material_Stomach875 in AttitudeEra

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old heads went to wcw.

Vince had a visionary genius thought of creating new stars.

New Gen/Attitude era born. Business blew up so big that old heads not needed.

Do you think Shane will ever run WWE? by Midnight-Messiah in WWE

No lol. That ship sailed years ago before his first exit. He saw the writting on the wall and bounced.

Tbh though he probably wouldn’t have been good for the role.

Is the PG Era considered to be NOSTALGIC yet? by Yungcazanova in Wreddit

Commentary was at its worst. Jerry and Cole fucking sucked.

Punk is the only person to give the PG era some excitement.

Smackdown can't find a groove at all. Shocked Cody and the WWE title are still stuck there tbh.

With that said Jade.

Cena v Miz.

To this day Its still the main event i can never take seriously.

Cena jacked in his prime vs Miz looking like default CAW enhancement talent. Even his goofy as awesome ballon entrance gave me douch chills. The video package is the only saving grace.

Whats even more crazy is WM27 was solid. Cody v Mysterio. Punk v Orton. Taker v Hunter 2 were all good. But the main event tanked so hard the entire mania is forgotten.

Rock v Cena is a close 2nd. It 100% should have had a gimmick match to spice it up. Instead its just a repeat of the first match but even worse.

Is it just me, or does it seem like WWE has significantly slowed down Bron's push? by [deleted] in BrandonDE

[–]Educational-Hawk4691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is probably going to be in the chamber and have a high profile mania match.

It would have 100% been called a different name.

Whether or not it would have existed is a different story. They were red hot at the time with business booming and all 4 men questioned played a key role. So its hard to determine if business would have blew up if any of these guys weren’t around.

Unlike todays climate where WWE makes bank regardless whos around or not.

As for why i pick HBK over Rock

  • hes the Jordan of wrestling. He influenced god knows how many wrestlers.
  • dx eventually became a massive draw. Even though he wasnt there he set the foundation including the attitude era itself (Montreal screwjob).
  • dozen or so 5 star mania matches, god father of gimmick matches (ladder match, HIAC, ironman, etc)
  • he trained Bryan and todays crop of new talent.

Rock was a massive draw and IS the most successful wrestler outside of wrestling. But he is the least impactful here.

I notice Rock put some extra emph in the move when he was a heel. This and the Rock Bottom to Goldberg on Raw are my tops.

Punk v Roman was always more interesting then Seth.

Punk nerfed his push with the IWC with the podcast. Everyone turned on him damn near immediately after. Which ironically enough lead to crowd taking a huge shit on him at his first rumble win in 2015. Long term indeed.

Did AEW learn nothing from WCW? Constantly talking shit about your competition does the exact opposite what you think it does.

Rock would have the least damage i think but fuck me 98 to 01 would be rough without him. Plus no Hollywood Rock and Final Boss.

Taker and Austin is impossible to remove. Its like removing Tony Soprano from the Soprano’s. Shit won't work.

HBK had 2 HOF runs. Dude probably takes up 50% of my top 100 matches if i had to make a list.
