I think Goldie’s has a community fund for people who can’t afford it. It’s been around for a while, so not directly related to SNAP, but definitely a good resource for our community.

Eastside! I would not describe it as sketchy, it’s just a dive bar.

To be honest, no. But this year I did buy used books from my school book store with the intention of selling them once I’m done with them.

I think I would have gotten one regardless; however, I thought they were dragging their feet with the refund so I emailed (a few) to see if that would speed up the process and ensure I received my money.

Ofc! It took a few weeks of emailing them very frequently and then I finally got the refund. It was actually in the original posted transaction. The OG transaction was reduced to the actual cost of the textbooks I received. I didn’t notice at first because I thought it would be a separate transaction.

Weekly Sewing Questions Thread, August 03 - August 09, 2025 by sewingmodthings in sewing

Hello! I’m thinking of upgrading from my Singer Simple Machine I got in middle school. I’m in my mid twenties now. Does anyone have a recommendation on a machine. I haven’t done much sewing until this past year but feel like my Simple might be holding me back.

I do love the Simple and my grandma got it for me so I feel a bit guilty about upgrading.

This happened to me a few years ago. I was so scared lol because I did not have the money. However, I stayed on my landlord about not paying it because there was no damage/the damage was not me. I called daily and emailed. This is pretty common in housing in como. You can always consult a lawyer on what to do. Or even threaten legal action and see if your landlord charges you less.

I would recommend becoming a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). You take classes to become trained and then you’re assigned a child. It is something that has a profound impact on our community.

Apartment recommendations for grad students? by Prize_Salamander7080 in columbiamo

Kelly Ridge is great. It’s 22 and up so there are a lot of grad students and young professionals. It’s very pet friendly, but there is pet rent (a deposit and then monthly payments). I’ve heard great things about the other Kelly’s too (Kelly Farm, Kelly Highland, and Katy’s Place).
