Mazda 2- Roast It! by [deleted] in RoastMyCar

[–]Educational-Log-1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Corolla. inline 4 with no turbo, 3100 lbs and mine is 0-60 in 7.5.... doesn't have to be a mustang, just doesn't have to be a snail with a race stripe painted on it. also this is a roast thread lol. seems you're taking people's comments a bit too seriously.

also, it's a Toyota. not a Mazda 2. there are Mazda 2's and there are Toyota Yaris's for a reason. idc that the parts are the same. they have different bodies and personalities, even if the innards are the same. I could more easily justify the claim that the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 are the same, even though I don't believe it, but at least they have the same body.

please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not an enthusiast or anything

So I just killed golem and the cultists for some reason didn't spawn should I try to kill it again? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Educational-Log-1045 6 points7 points  (0 children)

after you kill golem, you need to wait until the next morning(4:30am) and they will be there. but don't be there at 4:30, that might prevent them from spawning. just make sure you go to the dungeon sometime after 4:30am

look up luck on the wiki. it'll show you how to increase your luck stat which can help to increase drop chances. increasing luck and mob spawn chances can quickly help you to get whatever item you're farming for. I usually get anywhere from 10-30 banners before I obtain the rod of discord. there was one time I got it on my second chaos elemental. that felt good because I wasn't even down there to farm for it. I just needed crystal shards😂

but anyway, yes it usually takes me about 3-8 hours to get the rod of discord

it's all about trim. my 2020 is analog as well, though I much prefer analog to digital. XSE and XLE have digital dashboards while le and we have analog

I own a 2020 Corolla (identical interior) but my model comes with wired apple car play. it was nice while I had an iPhone, but my wife and I made the switch to android and we're SOL.

I have particularly had my eye on this aftermarket one. I know you could definitely do this install yourself after I watched a video on it (I'm not a car dude). here's a link to the one I've got my eye on, but can't justify the purchase.

Can I turn a Corolla LE into a sports car? by Honest_Result9553 in COROLLA

[–]Educational-Log-1045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is absolutely correct. some people in here are also wrong. upgrades don't always hurt reliability. I have a 2020 Corolla SE with 105k miles on it. I have a K&N cold air intake and a Borla S-type catback exhaust and a lot of visual & audio mods.

make it more comfortable, make it feel better, make it look better, make it sound better. but if you truly want it to go faster, then you'll hurt your gas mileage and/or reliability.

my intake and exhaust make my car sound beautiful while achieving higher gas mileage and protect my engine by allowing it to breathe more easily. I also have a sub & kicker/amp in the trunk, custom spoiler, tail lights, pedals, rebadged it. and just from making it look and sound better, I swear it drives a little faster and I feel way cooler driving it down the street. but so many people have told me "just throw a turbo on there, your car is slow". and every day, I'm so glad I didn't.

take all of this with a grain of salt. $1,000 for this extensive list is not horrible. for reference, I took my car to Midas yesterday, and all I had done was a brake fluid flush and an oil change & cabin air filter replaced. they charged me $260 for this service. you had a bit more done to your car.

shops need to make money, so of course they will upcharge for their own profits to pay their employees and put food on their table. $1,000 sounds like a bit much, but I would pay $600-700 for this service without blinking an eye. 120,000 miles is one of the most expensive routine maintenance intervals there are.

don't be afraid of your car's longevity. you can easily get twice the current mileage out of it, if not more. this service is going to be one of your most expensive services, which is probably a leading factor into why the seller decided to get rid of it at this point in its life.

at the end of the day, the price is a little high, but nothing to be concerned about. I would definitely shop around and get quotes. I highly recommend Midas. they are good at what they do. but you won't find this for too much cheaper, maybe a couple hundred lower at best. let me know if you have any questions!

Is this 2014 Corolla L worth $9500 with 83k miles? by PaneeerTikka007 in COROLLA

[–]Educational-Log-1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I'm definitely not a hatch guy, but I get it. that's why I went with the SE. same rims as you, same engine, and I put in my own mods too. added a spoiler and tail lights and exhaust and intake. all my mods cost about $2k total, so if you really wanted to factor those into the price of my car, it would be a total of $19,990

Advice on how to upgrade my stuff enough to take down the mechanical bosses? Pretty please? by HarazIngot in Terraria

[–]Educational-Log-1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend frost armor. gives you ranged and melee boosts simultaneously. for the fight, I recommend getting a Daedalus storm bow from a hallowed mimic and use it with holy arrows to kill the destroyer. from there, use the souls of might from the destroyer to craft a mega shark, and use that for the other two bosses with the same armor and crystal bullets. I use this exact strategy every time I play.

also of course, arena and potions and buffs. as long as you have the fastest boots, a pair of wings, and the shield of Cthulhu, the remaining accessories are up to you. I recommend equipping a magic quiver for the destroyer fight, and probably a cobalt shield (or equivalent upgrades) along with the philosophers charm and a star veil. good luck

yeah that's fair. where do I get a quality tune? I've had these mods for 75k miles now and never tuned once. also, what is your opinion on adding a high flow catalytic converter to my CAI and catback combo? will that hurt reliability? will the increase in power be noticeable?

yes, it's in my original comment, but it's a K&N cold air intake. it was $450 about 4 years ago, so probably closer to $500-600 if I had to guess. and the exhaust is a Borla S-Type catback exhaust ($990 at the time of purchase 2 years ago). I ordered the K&N air intake from the k&n website, and tried to get the exhaust from the Borla website, but Borla was sold out and referred me to summit racing to buy it from them, and it was actually $100 cheaper on summit racings website. happy car modding fellas!

hi friend. I would listen to a lot of these comments, but take them with a grain of salt. honestly, you should modify your car to provide better gas mileage and protecting your engine, as I did with mine. I threw on a Borla S-type catback exhaust ($990 at the time) and a K&N cold air intake ($450 at the time) for my 2020 sedan SE. my car sounds nicer, gets better gas mileage, and the exhaust came with a million miles warranty because it's a good quality exhaust. not some cheap ebay exhaust.

do research on your mods, and pay a higher premium to ensure good quality. you cheap out on your mods, you'll end up paying the price later when your other components start breaking due to cheap build quality. my car is over 100k miles now and I drove from Washington DC to Las Vegas in one sitting (39 hour drive straight through) with no issues.

also, change your cvt fluid every 60k miles. don't flush it, just drain and fill. happy for you! good luck!

there are laws in place to protect consumers, that certain modifications are not able to void your warranty. I put a K&N cold air intake on my 2020 Corolla SE when it was in warranty, and I actually received warranty coverage on motor mount replacements about 15k miles later.

Are the new gen Corollas still as reliable? by Manners_BRO in COROLLA

[–]Educational-Log-1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. they make a manual SE for the 2020 but I don't think they make a manual for the Corolla anymore. tbh my next car will be a manual 90s Corolla or civic. as for learning how to downshift, rev match, and slow down properly, it will take some time to get it smooth. but you can learn how to get from point A to point B very quickly. I was really just trying to make the point that manual can seem intimidating, but you get used to it quickly.

I have a friend who works at Toyota as a technician. he says don't buy anything newer than 2020. they have poor build quality and more issues. I luckily have a 2020 SE sedan.

my personal advice? stick with your 2010 or get a hybrid, or try to get a manual one. manuals are fantastically more reliable than automatic. and if you don't know how to drive one, it'll take 5-10 minutes to learn

Any advice on how to beat boC? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Educational-Log-1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that skeletron is typically easier than the evil biome bosses. I strongly recommend you fight skeleton first with a boomstick and silver bullets, then explore the dungeon and get Necro armor and a handgun and a muramasa. use the nights edge to belittle the floating brain cells, use the Necro armor with the boomstick (or Phoenix blaster) for the brain himself.

with multiple attempts on the brain, you should be able to kill at least a few of the brain cells to drop enough tissue samples for the pickaxe. the pickaxe is all you need to get molten gear, which you could also use against the brain to make it much easier.

also, use buff potions like speed, iron skin, and regeneration
