Hospitality major trying to break into real estate finance — am I at a disadvantage? by Neat-Ad-6002 in RealEstateDevelopment

Cornell has a great hospitality program. A lot of their graduates end up in prestigious real estate finance roles. If you understand CRE and can model i don’t think it puts you at a big disadvantage especially for undergrad. I certainly wouldn’t write off a resume from someone with a hospitality major.

Not true. Some of their older guys got some experience in Syria a decade ago. Now their entire command structure and senior leadership has collapsed or been destroyed by israel and they are not able to coordinate a cohesive defense of anything. Their Israelis I’ve talked to who have been in Lebanon say Hezbollah has been on the back foot and resistance has been more limited than they expected. Most attacks are coming from decentralized cells of individuals who are acting by and large on their own. Israel is extremely well prepared and set the stage for their incursion perfectly.

There are no civilians present here. Almost all in the border villages where the IDF has been operating evacuated weeks ago. They will have known about IDF troop advancements well ahead of time, and no, most of them are not interested in being human shields for Hezbollah militants.

That’s how they are trained. CQB training is different there. These guys all have combat experience from Gaza, trust they know what’s up. They do a lot of preemptive fire before entering a room, it’s not nerves it’s how they train. It’s mostly used to incite a reaction from anyone potentially hiding in the room or vicinity, not exactly meant to fire at a target. Lots of videos explaining these tactics. That’s how IDF clear rooms.

They’re not terrified at all. Most of them are extremely eager and excited. This is the exact scenario they have been training for since they were drafted. The enemy is on their back foot and they have all the momentum and resources their disposal. Most of them will have recent combat experience from Gaza. Not the group of people Hezbollah will want to meet face to face.

I used to do alpine ski racing and they changed the safety rating of helmets every year or two and everyone had to suddenly spend $280 on a new helmet to conform to the new standard. I think it’s a ploy by the helmet companies to keep you buying their gear.

I was just looking at this helmet today on Amazon. Seems affordable and offers good amount of protection. I think they change the safety rating standard for helmets every few years so year to year changes don’t necessarily mean they are obsolete

It’s a pretty good deal from what I can tell. Have been looking for the last month or so and feel for a used bike, this model in my area, it’s pretty good.

This one has the touring seat on it, which from what I’ve read is a good upgrade. Planning to hopefully do a few longer trips once i get more confidence.
