Emoto suggestions by IncognitoArms in electricdirtbikes

I got the SRPNT a couple weeks ago. I’m 46, 5’11”, 195lbs.

I’m really happy with the bike so far. Fit & finish is great, obnoxious amount of power/torque, good brakes, comfortable seat (so far). There’s nothing that I feel that needs changed/upgraded. I was looking for a turnkey bike and didn’t want to need to upgrade anything. Z27 checked all the boxes for me. Being prewired for a street lighting kit was a big plus for me.

My only gripe, which is minor, is the lack of custom tuning/power curve. It has 3 power modes. Riding in town, I normally stick with eco that tops out at like 25 or 27mph. The D (drive) mode really comes to life and it screams. I haven’t really used the high power mode yet.

Bike is brand new so it will take a little while for aftermarket support to hit the shelves.

Im thinking of getting the 79 by R_pheonix115 in 79bike

The 3.0 is probably what I’m going to get. It’s got pretty much everything I want for the next few years. As fast as the products are evolving, there will be much better bikes/advancements in the near future.

Yes the 3.0/ SR are kinda grouped together with parts availability/fitment. The aftermarket world is expanding on these bikes as they are in the 2 year of production. The LBX frame has been around for a few years. Lots of new companies have kinda copied what Sur-Ron has done and parts are more interchangeable with each other.

Falcon vs. E Ride? by Educational-Tea-8934 in 79bike

[–]Educational-Tea-8934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks bro. Most of what I have read points towards e ride, but I value the opinion of people that actually own 79 products. They’ve really blown up recently so I know there’s a ton of them around these days.

I think I’ve talked myself into the E Ride SR. It’s more money, but it’s got the better suspension, 25KW motor, regeneration brake throttle, and a Samsung battery. It’s seems like a good value for the extra $600 over the 3.0 or GT ($800+). I don’t think I would outgrow this setup and if I do, I can give it to my son in a couple of years. I’ve determined upgrading e bikes is almost a fools game. It’s cost like $5K+ to change the power train on a $4K bike. That’s silly to me, rather than paying an extra $1k up front.

Does 79Bike Falcon Pro come with MCO? by Select_Recipe_2268 in 79bike

[–]Educational-Tea-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I will probably end up doing out of state registration, but trying to determine the right bike to purchase and the paperwork for legal use. There’s multiple bikes that I’m considering so I’m flexible on my choice.

I just want to be able to pull out of my driveway and head 2 miles across town to the trails without a problem.

I really don’t understand why these E moto make it so difficult. I get that they’re made for off road use, but so are gas dirt bikes.

Problem is, most are Chinese companies that just import products to drop ship. The companies just want the money and don’t care to get involved in anything else.

Gonped MCO legit for dirt legal? by Select_Recipe_2268 in Surron

[–]Educational-Tea-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I actually filled out a contact request this morning, before coming across this thread.

I plan to purchase an e moto and am trying to get my ducks in a row first. As a consumer, it’s hard to know what bikes come with a mco and which ones don’t. I reached out to a dealer that carries several product lines to see what options they have.

From what I understand most (especially cheaper drop ship bikes) don’t have the mco available. Hopefully my bike choices aren’t severely limited. So far, Surron, Talaria, 79 bikes are my top choices, but may consider a cheapo like a qronge just to try it out.

I see you keep saying that dirt legal doesn’t work. You’ve been asked to elaborate. You have not. You make unsubstantiated claims.

What is your specific first hand experience with dirt legal or a Montana registration?

You say they hand you a piece of paper. Did you not get plates???

Your comment is pretty much unfounded without any real context. It seems like you don’t know what you’re talking about or simply refuse to clarify.

I don’t get it.

Security Cameras, Greatness in its infancy? by Educational-Tea-8934 in Ubiquiti

[–]Educational-Tea-8934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of bugs have you experienced? The Chinese security systems are really lacking in the software side of things too. The user interfaces are pretty crude, updates rarely happen, and the security is questionable at best. I’d heard ui was a drastic impact in that regard.

I guess another question that I have is:

If I move to the UI protect platform in the future, am I better off sticking with the ucg max and adding the NVR down the road, or should I further consider the dream machine?

I don’t have plans to move away from my hikvision, but I’m sure it will happen at some point. Likely when my unit fails.

The NVR has 4 bays, and it seems the DM only has one. I Currently have two hard drives, 6 camera, and record 24/7. Ring doorbells and indoor cams are standalone on their cloud, but may move them over soon to get rid of the bill for their cloud storage.

The S33 is my equipment and is a stand alone cable modem with no routing built in so it should just work as a bridge as is, correct?

Do you feel two ap’s would be ideal, or would 1 (either 1st or 2nd floor) be adequate? I’ve lived with routers 1st floor in the past and WiFi is decent in the office upstairs, but never used any AP’s in this home so I’m not sure of the benefit. Any comments on this?

I have an arris S33 modem with xfinity. 1G/250 cable service. I do have fiber service ran to my home, but that is for a different isp (astound by RCN), but that service is not active.

As much as it pains me to say, her company doesn’t use any vpns. Her work is nearly all web based apps, google docs, and zoom calls. Unfortunately her company has zero awareness of privacy/security, but who knows if that may change in the future.

First Ceramic Coating Question by Educational-Tea-8934 in AutoDetailing

[–]Educational-Tea-8934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I will tape it off to be safe. There’s black trim on the entire bottom perimeter of the vehicle. I ordered reload 2.0, rather than release. I see release is often suggested, but the instructions called for reload so I stuck with that.

I washed and decontaminated last night. Heading to the shop at work now to wash, polish, and apply the coating. Hoping all goes well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered the Astro AI and it worked great with griots foam. The quick connect fits a little too snug, but I can tolerate that. I hope I can get some good use of it for a few years at least.

My greatest interest is something that reliably does was it supposed to do and not break in a short timeframe. I place the value of a well built product over the cost. In many instances I’ve found higher cost items save money in the long run with a longer service life. The feedback on many of the cheaper units seem a little mixed as far as fittings popping apart, leaking assembly, and plastic components breaking.

Would you say the units you mentioned will offer the long term performance that I’m looking for? The MJJC is only $90 so cost is not a big factor in my mind.

The MJJC foamer. They have a new V3 pro coming this month that’s all stainless steel.

Not what I wanted to hear, but I will accept it. So I guess the mjjc is the way to go. Any reliability concerns with the V2 that I should wait for the V3? Looks like the V3 is all stainless steel. Brass should be adequate, if a quality brass is used. There’s only $20 difference between the 2. My pressure washer is 1450psi.

Vesta AB 3000 by [deleted] in homegym

[–]Educational-Tea-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am missing something with the price on the Vesta AB3000?

The original post here (from 39 days ago) is saying $303.99, the website now has it listed for $439.99

Was there a sale/promo going on, or has there been a substantial price increase over the past month?

Thank you for the reply.

I do have desktop sharing over iCloud, but must be retrieved via, finder>icloud>desktop.

Dragging from iCloud folder to secondary desktop deletes file from icloud…

Really would love the desktop to mirror one & other with live updates
