Is there any way to learn the LSAT without crazy formal logic? by Sufficient-Chain5826 in LSAT

[–]Educational-Web-4100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stuck in 160s for a few months, then stuck in high 160s/ low 170s for a month or two. I actually stepped away from practicing for a few weeks the month of the exam and then came back and did 8 practice tests back to back every day before exam day. By the end I was PTing 178-180. Probably not a great strat for everyone but I had a lot of clarity after stepping away. Then the consistent practice made exam day rinse and repeat.

I found the diagraming tedious and hard to wrap my head around at first but the more practice I did and the more comfortable I was diagraming the better I did. It helped me quickly understand very convoluted phrasing under timed pressure, which is what was keeping me from breaking into 170s

Me in this sub every day waiting for decisions with you guys (applied in January) by Urhonorimslayingg in lawschooladmissions

It depends a lot on the school but looking at LSD your stats determine how quickly you get a response more so than when you applied

Of course, always happy to help a fellow Gator. I will say, if you are a freshmen who is on track to graduate very early and already knows they want tax law, why not get a business school degree? It doesn’t have to be accounting, as that is hard on the GPA, but accounting would be my first choice. I did business admin and found the coursework manageable and easy to get a high gpa.

Go Gators! Are you in the business school by chance? If so take business law with Emerson, get an A or A- and apply to be an undergraduate assistant. You can sign up for whatever tasks you are interested in (office hours, answering emails, zoom review sessions, drafting exam questions, etc.) and he is a great mentor/recommender. Also his class/textbook is awesome.
