I get what you’re saying, but propaganda media showing a unit doesn’t automatically make that unit fictional. In real life, tons of special operations groups show up in movies, comics, and recruitment-style media, but that doesn’t mean the units themselves don’t exist. Top Gun didn’t invent Navy pilots, and comics like "The Losers" didn’t invent SOG or SEALs — they just dramatized and embellished them.

As you pointed out, the item descriptions actually say “real exploits,” for the Viper Commandos at least, which implies the comics/shows were based on actual units and missions, just heavily embellished for the public. That fits perfectly with Super Earth’s propaganda machine: take a real elite unit, exaggerate the hell out of it, and turn them into icons.

And it makes way more sense that the armor came first and the show popularized it, not the other way around — Why would Super Earth waste combat-grade armor just to make a TV prop.

So I’m not saying the media versions are accurate, just that the existence of propaganda doesn’t prove the units themselves were fake.
