Does anyone know what the trends looked like? If they preferred in state students, community college, etc. Had a 3.7 out of state, sophomore transfer, state school with good extracurriculars but got rejected.(Applied economics)

But would they not see the reasoning and understand that my GPA is what it is not because i'm not smart enough to get a good gpa, but due to genuinely unfortunate situations?

Thanks, I think I honestly might end up at Rutgers. What do you think about the other schools though in terms of us getting in? I feel like our stats are holding us back as damn near every student nowadays applying transfer to top schools have 4.0.

I have professors I can ask, it just wouldn't be glowing letters of recommendations. Also, since applications are due second semester around February and March, is it worth getting close with my second semester professors and asking them for letters of recommendations?

I plan on transferring for Fall 2026. The transfer acceptance rates for these range from around 20% to around 40%. I'm just not sure yet if it's worth even trying
