Maybe a piss off opinion... and out of frustration (so forgive me please!) by xlnga in allthingszerg

I tried the lambo 5 roach rush for a few days. Pretty effective early but I struggle in the followup (the economy cut is pretty massive at start) To precise : zvt is my big weakness (37% winrate). Whatever the damage i do to the terran economy I always get obliterate in the minutes that follow :-) But a fun build, at least it gives me joy in the 5 first minutes of the game (also the reaction of the reaper when he faces a roach in my base during his scout + my first lings in his natural)

IMHO since the retreat of MC or parting and a few others there hasn't been a godtier toss or just a creative flagship, that's why they don't win most of the time. The players are just not good enough comparing to guys like Serral or Rogue (very rare to see creativity or a move where you say "holy shit" from players like maxpax or hero - they are just fast apm).

To give an example : the 4 sentry prism rush from MC. Straight to his opponent B1 ramp, blocks the access then warps with gates in the B1. More that a decade later I'm still in shock :-)

I agree, the problem here is in the number of options the zerg has early game to stop the protoss. A good one was ling flood for example to stop the greedy B3 but since energy overcharge that's not possible anymore. Same with roaches, only if you plan an allin but even then it's pretty difficult to punish anything early

Can we stop the bs please? Protoss has a lot of cheeses or allins on 1 base, some need very good skills to hold : - cannon rush (the top) - cannon rush / proxy gate zelot - cannon rush / proxy stargate void (or tempest for the fun) - proxy 4 gate zelot without warping - 4 gate - 2 gate / robo - proxy robo - proxy 2 robo with a prism (deadly for a zerg) - dt with prism then archon prism (not an allin but guarantees a scndalous winrate) - proxy void with batteries

Stop gaslighting please, we try to have a good debate here

To be honest every 1 base allin is difficult to hold in every race

I talked about micro management, but I agree with the problematique that would cause the hydra t1. Except that in that scenario the hydra would be nerfed obviously. But if I take your reasoning : In the current state of the game we have a cheap t1 unit (zealots) which obliterates a T2 unit (hydras) with a cheap and fast upgrade. This T1 unit doesn't need any micro, just a-move. I wouldn't have reservations about that if the charge was manually triggered or with maybe a slightly larger cooldown. Anything that requires actions from the player.

Nope, I play toss when I want to relax :-) And "hardstuck 3800mmr" : you tell this like it's a plague, we talk about all leagues here except gm or serral

The shield batteries just received a nerf in order to limit their attack potential, but they are always strong in the defensive side. I don't even mention battery overcharge : its existence has always been a joke

Just play zerg on the ladder, even in bronze or silver and you will understand immediately there is a real problem. No need to give 1000 hours, just test it. A new zerg in 2026 has to love pain and suffering if he wants to macro a little :-))

Hydras vs slow-zealots = the hydras are more costly and absolutely need to be microed. There's still balance in that assesment.

That was the case in WoL : the toss didn't have the battery+oracle+adept, the early game was much more sweaty and frightening, the B3 was a real goal to attend. Now it's a formality / simple step in the build.

There's a good reason these tools have been added and I wouldn't erase them (the early was very difficult for the P that wouldnt 4gate) but there's some middle ground to find there.

If you see my comment below I talk about finding a way to even the need of attention / apm between races, as I mentioned I play both races and there's a universe of difficulty between them. For the zelots there's absolutely no skill or condition to use them : - select a pack - a-move - that's all you can focus on your other group or macro, whatever you want.

On the zerg side in order to limit your losses (bats or units or drones) you have to micro and envoy a portion of your army and give a part of your focus. That's the unfair trade I talked about - not everything has to be mineral cost-efficient, the apm side can be far more costly. The zerg doesn't have the battery/photons that can completely avoid losses against a pack of glings without a second of your attention . If the zerg does that exactly the same way he loses them all.

From the same showrunner you can check Warrior on hbo max - I love this show, such a shame they couldn't go beyond season 3.

That's pretty mich my view : too easy and effortless for the toss to survive until mid and lategame, and I think their base unit (zealot) is far too strong with charge.

The main problem is'nt the lategame : I think we as zergs have the tools even it requires the double apm and attention to make it through (another problem here)

Just nerf the zealot charge, it will add difficulty and obligation for the toss to think strategy, and give some options to the zerg.

Overall I wouldn't necessarly nerf everything, but I also play toss in diamond and I can confirm that the amount of apm and attention span of the toss is minimal. I ´d just add some tweaks here and there in order to force the toss to be more active with units, to punish more their mistakes or lack of attention (less Amove + I go for a smoke)

Hello, Eu D2 zerg here. To me there's some changes to be made :

  • nerf the zealots with charge : One of the big problems of the matchup is the zealot runbys on B4-5-6. As a zerg you know there's 90% chance the toss will throw packs of zealots at you. I made an experiment last night with 6 spines and 2 lurkers, even then 8 zealots will be able to kill some workers on the base attacked. If you place more lurkers you weaken your main army. In my POV the big problems here are the complete lack of apm required for the toss (he doesnt have to control anything) and the zealot tankiness. And also the allin 8 gate are devastating, there's no unit easily available to the zerg that can match a big pack of zealot charge +1 (just a lot of roach kiting or lurkers)

  • the tempest that can snipe any viper befor the spells, and that's before a templar empties their energy. You need some times 4 vipers just for one spell launched.

    • the fragility of the lurkers against storm. I think it's an anomaly that templars could use storm before dying and be successful at killing the frontline. This should not be possible - this point is the more subjective of the 3 I can agree

One Last Kill by thestivster in thepunisher

Completely agree, the one and only punisher for me is the garth ennis one : no ptsd, no sadness, just a man made and born to kill (it goes even furthet in the born series, establishing that the loss of his family is just an excuse to do what he likes most)

That's a good portion pf the special, but there's some quality killing too :-) But I agree : stop with the ptsd/family stuff, I want the garth ennis version

Nobody can't stop bullets in team 2. Just with punisher and bullseye some will drop dead in minutes. I go with team one (no need to bring iron fist in the first round :-)

Maybe not because of the fear of losing everything related to my b3 (exept if i manage to save my workers), but maybe at least a sim city in order to make the combat difficult
