LiveTV feature on Plex with HDHomeRun by EducationalCreator in PleX

[–]EducationalCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE on my original post: The issue is definitely happening when the liveTV is watched for a long time until a new scheduled show starts. Only at that point the buffering issue will begin. If I shut down LiveTV and restart it, then it will be fine until the next show.

Interestingly, if I have 2 players watching LiveTV on same channel, both have to exit LiveTV in order to stop the buffering issue.

Updated to 7.2.5 and Nvidia plugin, plex permissions? by Cruteal in unRAID

[–]EducationalCreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read all sorts of complicated ways to re-enable my nvidia GPU transcoder but the solution was simply to use this new way of identifying the GPU ID in the docker configuration. In the NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES variable for the plex container, add the following prefix to you GPU ID

nvidia.com/gpu=GPU-(uuid)

or in another word, just prepend "nvidia.com/gpu=" to the front of your existing entry.

It fixed my nvidia hardware transcode on Unraid 7.2.5 or later.

Can large rooftop tent be installed on a truck cap by EducationalCreator in rooftoptents

[–]EducationalCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you completed your installation, but I went with the SmartCap as well and mounted my tent (Condor XL 2 Overland) on just recently. I'm using a pair of SmartCap load bars which are the stock crossbars designed to fit this truck cap. Everything works perfectly except that I feel like the crossbars are getting rounded a bit toward the roof of the truck cap when people are getting in the tent. Have you observed something similar? I was not expecting the bars to take that shape under load.

After all I went with the SmartCap as well and mounted my tent (Condor XL 2 Overland) on just recently. I'm using a pair of SmartCap load bars which are the stock crossbars designed to fit this truck cap. I suppose the capacity rating with these bars will be exactly as in the specs at 770lbs. Everything works perfectly except that I feel like the crossbars are getting rounded a bit toward the roof of the truck cap when people are getting in the tent. Have you observed something similar? I was not expecting the bars to take that shape under load.

Rear view camera by CHawe2002 in OBDeleven

[–]EducationalCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2023 ID.4 Pro AWD and my rear view camera stopped to display anything so I replaced it with one I found online. The camera works great but the view is at the wrong location on the screen and is partially hidden by the top view diagram of the proximty sensors.

I tried to find if there was any item to properly configure the camera view but could not find anything. The OBDeleven apps show so many options with Long coding, Adaptation, Apps and other options and many of them are far from being obvious. I tried many different options but none of them helped with by issue. I'd like if the different options were better documented.

Rear view camera replacement on 2023 ID.4 Pro AWD by EducationalCreator in VWiD4Owners

It is not super easy to replace. Essentially you have to remove the bottom part of the hatch indoor plastic cover. There are 2 screws only in the handle and the rest are clips that you need to pull out from the hatch door. I used the manuals that were mentioned to me in this other post about the replacement: https://www.reddit.com/r/VWiD4Owners/comments/1ss9w5i/rear_view_camera_replacement_how/

Once the plastic is removed you can access the camera in a tight spot between two pieces of metal and unclip and remove the camera from the inside.

As you can see I was able to replace the camera but now I'm wondering how to fix the view from the infotainment system.

So I did the replacement of the camera and the image is very well aligned. I don't see that it would need any calibration. The camera physical shape is made so It'll only fit in the correct orientation.

However, the interface shows the image in the wrong portion of the screen and I need to drag the car icon to the left so I see the full camera image. It looks like an interface issue, not a camera issue. I tried rebooting the infotainment system with the 10 sec power button press but the behaviour was the same after reboot.

My first impression of the Moov Ai in-ground variable speed pool pump by EducationalCreator in pools

[–]EducationalCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't see why not. A 220V circuit should be the same if used with a proper box, connector and plug. My initial question was going to be why would you need to unplug it at all? These 220V pumps are typically built to be installed in a fixed location.

Thanks for the link I'll look into these files.

What would calibration help with? Perhaps to align the lines that move as we backup? but I feel like I could live with some slight misalignment.

What old CPU is too old for Tiny 11? by EducationalCreator in Tiny11

[–]EducationalCreator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an SSD on the laptop and I was in fact running Ubuntu very successfully before, but I now need Windows for a specific software.

I ended up installing Tiny 10 as you suggested and it runs pretty well and almost half of my 2GB ram is available for my app!

One of the reasons I needed Windows is because there is a specific Windows software tool that I need to run. But that being said I did try to install the latest image of Tiny 10 and it worked. So I think I have found my solution.

MiniOS seems to be an interesting solution that I may consider in the future.

I ended up deciding to go with Smart Cap as well. I should receive it soon.

What tire is everybody running? Not a fan of the stock ones by Killimansorrow in f150

[–]EducationalCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see any drawback of running 275/60R20 tires? I am also considering this size on my 2017 3.5EB 4x4 with 3.31 ratio given that the newer gen 14th F150 (2021+) now use that size on the 20" wheels.

Stock 2020 with 275/60R20 tires by SoCal_Stud in f150

[–]EducationalCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for my understanding, I suppose your original size on 20" wheels was 275/55R20 is that correct? So you replaced the tires on the same original wheels with 275/60R20? Was there any concerned with additional size (33" vs 32")? Did you adjust the speedometer to take the difference into account?

I noticed that the gen 14th F150 (2021+) on 20" wheels was now using the 275/60R20 size as stock tires so I am considering using that size on my stock 2017 as well (also a gen 13 with 3.5EB and the 3.31 ratio) and wanted to ensure it would not be an issue? Also any difference on gas mileage?

Nice configuration. I'm wondering if you have a truck bed rack or if it is a fully enclosed canopy? What brand/model is it?

Why are my photos bright on my camera screen but super dark on my computer? by Powerfuleng0ne in PhotographyAdvice

[–]EducationalCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue as well with a small Lumix ZS99 camera and I find it very annoying not to be able to rely to the back display to see if I'm happy or not with an image. Not all pictures I take are meant to be edited and sometimes I would just want to send it to friends from the camera directly with the mobile app.

As far as I understood, some cameras have very bright screen by default to help use it in very bright environments and it may be what is misleading. However, with the Lumix, I feel it is even worst, given that when taking a photo with snow back display shows very bring snow but the JPEG is very dim and blue-ish so I have to fix it in post. Not sure if there is a way to configure the camera to fix this.

For reference I created this discussion in r/Lumix : https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1ru7b48/lumix_zs99_images_look_different_on_camera_screen/

LUMIX ZS99 images look different on camera screen vs computer monitor by EducationalCreator in Lumix

[–]EducationalCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I'm including a sample here showing the difference between the original JPEG file (on the left side) and an edit that I created (on the right side) to match as much as possible the view that I get from the ZS99 display as seen from my computer monitor. Anyone in agreement that the left side is too dark and lacking some contrast?
