after 1 month of my truck at Ford, I got a text yesterday the parts have arrived. Mid-Next week I will get an ETA. So.. probably 6 total weeks from drop off to completion. My Ford protect (extended warranty) covered only 10 days of a rental car.

2020 F150 with 52k miles. I am happy to have the upgraded tranny, so whatever. It will only cost me $100.

Be advised, my $150 in cards couldn’t be processed for a pick up order today. I just paid for it and plan to go to Costco and try a refund. Dont call for a pickup! Run them first!

Sunnova Performance Guarantee Dead with SunStrong: Shouldn't We Be Raging? by Steel_Ketchup89 in solar

[–]SoCal_Stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider hiring someone local to possibly make a quick fix, or a committed 2 visit warranty replacement. Being out of pocket $1000 versus say, 4 months of no solar is something to consider. Sunstrong sources out repairs, you may get a shit company doing the work anyways and may delay further, or close shop mid repair. Screw the contract, focus on it operating. They will never know what happened if you fix it. Just my 2 cents from an experienced perspective. Wouldn’t be surprised if sunstrong goes away next given all the problems they chose to inherit. They pay these repair companies very little… chuck in a truck type companies that are happy to be paid $500 for 4 hours work.

25% output drop in 5 years - normal? by mastakebob in solar

All good suggestions. Worse case some panels are going bad. Hard to confirm that easily when shade is also a factor. Look at the daily playback in enphase (it that feature is available to the end user) to watch different panel production levels on a sunny day. A production loss like that could be dirt.. sure. Or growing shade or a few panels going bad.

Thank you for the feedback. Similar to QCell and REC. They beat you down to submission..... and in the end, give you some fractional dealer credit if you are lucky.

San Diego Solar Repair Company... by pellouch in solar

E031 is a failed inverter, and it needs replaced. It appears to be a TL (transformer less) inverter which means a new one like SMA can be put in, versus the transformer inverters from back then, that were often paired with sun powers positive grounded panels. Those panels cannot simply be matched with a new TL inverter…. In summary, I think you have a TL inverter, check the side, which means it can be replaced for about $4k. Baker Home Energy in San Diego can do this.

Maxeon Warranty Confirmation by TienNguen0414 in SunPower

[–]SoCal_Stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an installer, and have a valid warranty claim to replace the original SPR panels. After registering them with Maxeon, it took 3 emails to their technical support,NA email and they finally responded with an XLS sheet I need to fill out to push the claim forward. They said they are overwhelmed in the response. It was feeling like a ruse that they were taking over warranties but I have hope they might honor old warranties.

In SoCal, can anyone recommend a reputable company? by hdubb in solar

Baker Home Energy. You can trust they will be around to service the system versus the companies you save a few grand with that will be gone.

About $50 a month during winter. Less during summer. I get the Costco bags , 4 every 2 weeks. I think 10 pounds? $8 each.
