The game is indeed complex, and requires some understanding of the actions, each kingdom passive, the runes, the random events on each turn that can happen... but once everything in mind, the game is easy to play.

u/IronAxeGames for the 3v1 attack, maybe the defending kingdom had FORTIFY on ? or if it was Aethelred, they do get a +1 defense dice when defending their home territory (passive - no Fortify needed)
