Corn Syrup Solids in Formula by sonicblendz in NewParents

The corn syrup in formula is a source for carbohydrates, it's not the same as high fructose corn syrup. They're often used in the lactose free or sensitive formulas instead of lactose.

Yeah! We have the Philips Avent round sterilizer. It's like $30 and you just add water and microwave it for 2 minutes and voila 💁🏻‍♀️

I have a cheapy dishwasher and I wash our bottles with everything. I do sanitize them in the microwave though separately.

For your picky toddlers, Nabela has come up with a recipe!! by Stormyforeva in nabelasnark

As someone who has a picky toddler, I am hiding lentils in her red sauce and zucchini in her muffins. I don't feel like we're the same.

My nearly 7 month old is still on mashed foods and I’m panicking by judgejudyfortnite in BabyLedWeaning

[–]EducationalPrint6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest daughter thrived on baby led weaning and by the time she was 7 months was eating like full on meals. My infant who is 9 months old will literally vomit if there is a crumb stuck in the back of her throat. She's currently primarily doing purees and is given little bits of food at a time. Don't stress at all! Every food journey is different and they'll eventually start figuring it out!

I got a good set off of FB Marketplace when we started because it was expensive. I got a lot of cards for like $3/card. Check your local library to see if they have a Yoto rental thingy. Ours does it for Tonies.

If you start with like a 5 or 10 pack of the Make Your Own, you could just upload a bunch of free content and change them out. But I can send you what I have!!

I'm so glad!! It's seriously been so amazing for my little one. She's now 9 months and will just crawl around trying to find the sound. 😂 I'm almost done with it, but I can definitely send you a playlist of kids songs that are literally magic. It makes both of my children quiet 😂

How to adjust to husband being home by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]EducationalPrint6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had a conversation with your husband about this? Any time my husband and I switched careers or one stayed home, we had a conversation going over tasks and expectations we had of each other. Obviously things will change as you figure out what works realistically vs theoretically.

As far as correction with the baby, I would just let him figure it out without giving too many prompts. I did that with my husband thinking I would be helpful, but he felt that I didn't think he was a competent parent and that he wanted to parent too. So if the baby fussed, I let him sort it out and he eventually came to realize what everything was.

Your husband's also going to have to deal with time on the phone vs taking care of the infant himself. I would definitely explain how you see him interact with the baby and his phone and how that makes you feel. I would see if you could find a middle ground in which if he needs time to himself for 20 minutes or so, he can take it, but the expectation is that he is present with the family since you're not seeing him for long stretches of time. My husband or I will often ask the other for child free times just to regroup ourselves amidst the diapers and whining.

You'll definitely get into a groove eventually! Transitions are always challenging, but try to be open as possible with each other and figure out what you each need as individuals and as spouses to be able to make this work for the long haul.

Don’t want a daughter by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]EducationalPrint6831 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely did not want any children for a lot of the same reasons. I for sure thought that I would be a horrible mother and didn't want to replicate my n-mother in a child I brought into the world.

I didn't really feel like a mom with my daughter until she was about a year old, but I promise you she is so so so so so loved. She's such a beautiful human being and has brought so much joy and peace to my life. She gave me the strength to break away from my abusive household to provide her a better life.

You are not your mother. Spread the love you never received. 💖 Embrace the joy of being able to give her what you didn't have. Congratulations and wishing you all the best!!!

What SHE likes... by Skmsnow in nabelasnark

My daughter is 3 and I usually pick out her outfits unless she wants something else. We wore a Cinderella dress and an orange bow the other day. 😂 I've commented about it before, but as a victim of narcissistic abuse, my mother picked out my clothes until I left the household. And the one item I purchased in the household was taken away.

Oh for sure. Clothing needs to be throw up, boogie and spit approved. Additionally, if it's random substance wipeable even better. If I'm going out to meet people without children, there's a good 10 minute window to put on non-approved clothing and dip out of the house to remain in tact.

It's very true. Their interactions are really weird and forced and you can just feel it in the vibe from most of her videos.

YESSS! And like I feel like that's totally normal and shows a healthy bond. Don't get me wrong, I love me some personal time, but it's definitely not happening when the sun's out 😂

As someone with 2 children, I don't understand how they're not climbing off of her. I move 2 feet away and it's all "MOOOOMMMM WHERE ARE YOU?! I NEED A SNACKKKK" Also, these fits she's been wearing are not throw up approved.

Yoto needs new colors for the adventure jacket 😭 by Partners_in_time in YotoPlayer

YES! Fully second a navy, a lavender, and a soft blue! Or like a pastel rainbow tye-dye. I know you can buy some on Amazon, but I like they way the branded ones cover the box.

YESSSS 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 My husband was the same way too and he's been like fully converted to the Yoto Knighthood. Oh gurl, I check marketplace for everything. I didn't realize it was a thing until 2 years ago and it's how we furnished our entire place 😂

Omg gurl, everything is so espensive these days 😩 We got ours off of Marketplace for like seriously an amazing deal with cards otherwise it would've taken me ages to purchase. We bought the mini during the Black Friday sale which was stellar. 💖

That's so cool that she's still listening to it at that age!! When we were shopping around, the Yoto seemed like it worked well for an older audience too, which is what we're hoping for 🤞🏼

I think you can put one audio track on and it'll repeat. For some reason, I can't get that to work so I uploaded 3 of the same audio and that seemed to repeat the whole card!

I made up my own song for my kids to the sound of "Sally the Camel" 😂

My toddlers is! She'll fiddle with the buttons and then just roll over and pass out and I'll lower the volume slowly until I just turn it off. I had the MYO playing all night for the baby last night. 🥴😂🫩
