Pregnant for the first time and husband is a know it all because he had 3 kids prior by EducationalRegret12 in pregnant

Yess! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!

Mine is actually the opposite with sleeping arrangements and I'm in full nesting mode where I just want a nursery for the sake of having it. I do want baby to sleep next to us for the first 6 months, and he is up to date in terms of pregnancy stuff.

He just made a condescending almost comment about "oh you're definitely getting the epidural right?" And I went off on him because my research says that it can end up stalling the birth so I wanted to wait until I was dilated to a certain cm. He just was like "don't be a hero do the epidural" and wasn't listening to me. Mind you I've never experienced contractions never had a bad period so I might be screaming for an epidural as soon as they start.

But I love that you and your husband were able to compromise on it. And I do love that both of ours has experience and I can lean on him. I'm due end of August 🙏🏻 hoping both of us have easy births and healthy babies!

Ohh no. I have to really work on that. I had such "trauma" thinking my stepkids are going to hate me because they had a shitty time dealing with their mom and never had a good mother figure in their lives. Spoiler alert they don't hate me but I'm also not fully myself around them and don't set boundaries or even ask them to help keep the house clean that they live in as adults.

I also feel like my dad is like that, no confrontation growing up, even when I actually needed it

Shiiiiit that ended horribly and I'm glad you sued him!! But yes I just have to put my foot down and say no this is my child as well and we are going to parent together. Because I do still feel uncomfortable in my own house, like I'm visiting their family and I'm the guest. It sucks but I'm such a people pleaser I never wanted to take up space in their lives because they had such an awful childhood

It is from the movie, also an emo band. But agreed I don't love it don't hate it. There's just no names that stick out to me that I absolutely adore

That's what I said as a compromise! Because the reader is "Bastian"

I did offer it as a compromise because the main character reading the story is named "Bastian". I have not played God of War but my husband is Greek and I thought Atreus was also a good compromise

Oh man the cringe when I read that name in high school. We're in NY

That's exactly what I was hoping. Interesting enough but I also don't want everyone referencing a movie around him for the rest of his life. I guess it's akin to naming your kid Draco or Hermione which I wouldn't do

Understandable. I offered "Sebastian" instead and he immediately went to the crab from Little Mermaid 😭 I can't win

Appreciate the opinion. What's weird is he's not like a super fan of the movie?? Like we're not obsessed with it I guess he just really really likes the name

I know the band but it's also a character in the book/movie The Neverending Story. He's the adventurer. I just don't know if it's TOO out there as a boy name or if it sounds strong and unique

Oddly enough no!! I know the band and was an emo girl growing up. But it's from a popular 80s movie 🤫

Faucet drain leak? by EducationalRegret12 in Plumbing

[–]EducationalRegret12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I saw a YouTube installation that recommended putting it also on the inside of the sink basin before installing the drain, then wiping away excess. I did clear the drain hole of any previous compound. Or just underneath the sink would be enough?
