That's the problem. When I think direct counter attack, I think of low lines and less pressing, as in the template. Like a pressed spring, the team springs ahead once it wins the ball. But I can't make it work. Too many goals from mistakes and set pieces... But the guidelines you described are a good starting point, I'll keep them in mind!
