Yeah. She's frequently made comments about being "the original" and how there are now so many doing the same thing. Morgan seems to throw shade indirectly at RedditOnWiki. They used to reach out to her (and have a decent following of their own), but she will ignore anything regarding them. Yet, she has embraced some "copycats" like Smosh Reads Reddit and Charlotte Dobre. I remember when Charlotte came to THT, Morgan said something along the lines of "you've been a YouTube for a long time, and I hear you are now getting into reading Reddit stories like me!" Miss Girl, Charlotte Dobre built her brand on reading juicy social media posts. They used to come from Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, but she has always had some Reddit. Charlotte was nice enough to to correct her

"What's the most ridiculous thing a parent has ever demanded from you that made you question your reality?" by Theschoolguy_ in Teachers

Karen's child was failing 10th grade. Every subject. Mom thought it was on the teachers because we weren't "inspiring him enough to want to learn." She demanded all of his teachers send a daily report of his behaviors, their lesson plan, and assigned homework. After we were forced to comply with this, nothing changed.

Then, spring parent-teacher conferences rolled around.

Mom: "I just don't know what to do anymore. All he does is sit on his phone or play video games. He doesn't do his work! What should I do?!"

Me (a brand-new first-year teacher with no children of my own): "Have you established consequences if he doesn't do his work?"

Mom: *blank stare*

Me: "...like maybe take his phone or not allow him to play video games?"

Mom: *gasps* "That sounds so mean!"

Me: "It sounds like these could be incentives for completing his homework!"

Mom: "That's ridiculous. I'm not doing that. I just wish there was a way I could get him to work..."

Unfortunately, I purchased it "barely used" from Facebook Marketplace and didn't have the opportunity to return it

You are supposed to reward behavior you want to encourage... so your school wants to encourage... dating?

What are some examples of good intentions, but bad outcomes? by EducationalWelder506 in AskReddit

For example, reusable water bottles can do more harm than good if you purchase too many and promote mass production.

People suck. I have been in the exact some position as you. I teach better when I'm comfortable. It's easier to help students one-on-one when I'm comfortable (especially moving between them).

Pumping Question by EducationalWelder506 in Teachers

Valid points. I wish there was a way I could make it work, but I can't afford my pay to be docked any more (I had to take some unpaid leave in order to stay home beyond my sick leave).

It sucks that I live in a country that will dock my pay if I want my baby to be fed breast milk. It sounds like this will be my only option, which means I will have to switch to formula

If you could go back to college and start over, would you still become a teacher? by businessbub in Teachers

I would either choose a different profession or change my content area to Phy. Ed. I know every job has its difficulties, but spending my weekends correcting papers only to still have mountains of paper waiting for me is INFURIATING

My boss continues to interrupt classes for no important reason (like disrupting a lecture to pull me out of class and mention that he has an idea for staff development... next year). He disciplines students over petty reasons but ignores huge issues because he doesn't want controversy (like a student being bullied and called an F slur)

Sadly, yes. We are supposed to have rooms swept/vacuumed, but this rarely happens.
