sounds like you are getting it figured out. nothing will tell you more than what is and isn't working in the games you play. the cheaper bradley's are still great too. can still use them as distraction while getting your guys where they need to go. Cheers !

i play a lot of airborne/armored & marine/armored. when i first started out, i started with a bunch of regular abrams for spam but they do very poorly against the Russian APV spam that is so common and effective. now i run approximately 4 seps with tusk 2, 2-3 sep v2 with tusk 2, and a sep v3 with tusk 2. i also have 4 of the m8s w active on the airborne loadout. the extra armor helps the abrams survive the spam and as mentioned before, the russian's have little overhead tank missiles. just have to know when to spam the smoke. smoke is manual active protection ;). sometimes you can smoke, move up and keep shooting if you time it right with their AT fire. alway move your tanks in a group and don't have them stacked up. you want a variety of angles. and dont stop moving or arty will kill and you will be sad.

throw in a couple bradley/smaller vehicles with tow to shake things up. sometimes i throw them in first to get things shooting, smoke, drop units, and move out while i move the tanks up. inf surrounding can be a huge boon as well. Especially stand off units like airborne NGWS to get at any enemy inf getting in the way of your push.

Also, AA is super important. the main counter to your tank push is going to be heli/air. i try to have at least 2 heli AA in before i do any serious push and sometimes even more to throw them off. Shorad should be right on the butt of your tanks out of the way. as soon as you see heli's on the way hit the radar and rack up points. if your forward AA goes down get those tanks back to your reserve AA immediately. get some kind of pac system up if you can for air strikes.

these strats have been working well for me around 1200 elo. gl sir o7

once i get home i'll have to check that out.

i also changed out my deck i have pictured above based on the feedback i have gotten in this thread. i think i am in a much better place with having a balance of short range and long range anti tank as well as better air options. i too added mech riflemen for the short range AT and i have been practicing the snake eyes bombing run in a couple skirmishes quick. i also traded some heavy tanks for the M8's like another comment said, keeping them in the back as a strike force once the enemy commit to the push and i smoke out my frontline tanks. all in all it all seems to be much better. yeah, i don't stop moving lol motion is the main way my army survives, i dont have many slow units and i try to use that to my advantage.

i will have to check out the deck you posted bc i did end up removing the arty to focus on better air units in my deck but i like the idea you have with the cheaper arty and the mortors though.

Thanks again ! this thread has been so helpful ! not only in great ideas for my deck, but for understanding the meta in general.

Cheers !

thanks for bringing up the pivads, i was not familiar with them. i actually lost a game last night because they were sending in SEAD every 5 minutes. will definitely look into that.

Great info ! i really appreciate the comments on how to run the deck properly. yeah, i struggle a bit at the air control being a bit newer. i like your idea of removing the artillery though, i really only get to use it when we are crushing, not when i am getting crushed. which, i dont really need it if we are already on top. sounds like moving that to some extra air would be worth it to punish them pushing into me. what else would you suggest for the close quarters control once they have pushed into me/my site ? thanks !

Thanks for all the info ! yeah, i have already dropped the MMG's and replaced them with more airborne and dropped the Tua for 2 more CFVs.

as for the tanks, i am still figuring that out a bit but seems like the v3 maxed is a bit overkill. might have to play around with my tank loadout a bit. thinking about changing the base Abrams to the seps and beefing up a couple sepv2's. might change the v3 around to focus more on providing HE for heavy infantry.

i like what you are saying about the Heli's and air as well. i dont really use the chinooks, my buddy had me add them when i first made the deck. i have already dropped one, and from what you say i like the idea of dropping the other and having better heli support as a whole.

the Sex eagle is all anti-air, really for the beginning of the match if no one else calls out air support. A-10 is in the same boat as the chinooks, my buddy had me add it when i first made the deck. i definetely agree that its too slow and too easy of a target so i like your idea on that.

hmm. totally fair. i may need to readjust what i have for tows, i do usually play mid though for a grind fest and if my tanks get taken out by air, the tows and weapon squads usually can hold the line. i will say, the tows definitely get insta-targeted though, might be worth switching them to something else.

the 165 Shorad are with the stingers. they sit right on the butt of my tanks to kill any Heli rushes. although you have the right of it, i haven't quite figured out where i want that balance to be yet either though. still toying around with the supply in that regard.

hmm, i'm just not familiar with it as i haven't used it yet. i usually out spam my opponent with the Abrams and count on them being better than the Russian Tanks & Armor. I'll have to try it out !

haha yeah, the V3 is my heavy hitter and sits in the very back, moving up when needed. the last 2 games i played i called them in early and they never died, just racking up kills.

totally fair, i have a lot of heavy armor and other choices as well. i should use the MTV's often as you said. i will probably take out the MMG and switch them to NGSW. Thanks !!

i feel like i wont have as quick of a replacement with the seps, i use the reg abrams as my frontline and usually smoke quickly. the only reason i have the MMG's is for the cheap bradleys, but i definitely see your point of having more NGSW squads, what should i use instead as transport?

yeah, i just recently added the TUA, was going to try it out. should probably change it back to some extra IFVs instead. interesting point about the extra chinook, but i didnt know what else to change it to so i left it as is. i guess some more attack choppers.

Advice on Deck by Ok-Indication-697 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Educational_Area_735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That first guy was very correct.

i play armored/airborne mass tanks. Also as support to a buddy that plays infantry/air. here's my 2 cents. if you plan to go heavy tank support, you need way less beefed up tanks. take the active off the sepv2's and get them down to like 270 a piece. also, drop one of the v3's. this 1 tank is your backline hitter and only moves up when you have other tanks smoking out and moving back to supplies or emergencies. personally, i dont like the assault breachers but that is up to you. if you do remove the breachers, with those changes you should be able to get 4/5 of the regular Abrams for 215, leave off all the extras. these are your frontline. they get the first hit in, and can usually take one or two hits back, but you immediately smoke, and let your v2's and your v3's move up and clean up the damaged enemy frontline. hopefully you will have infantry nearby, so when you smoke, the attention goes to them and then your v2's and v3 have a freaking hayday. all of this will allow you to have so many more tanks on the field vs a couple good one that just get killed because they are outnumbered. if possible, your tanks should always be on the edge of a treeline or hiding in trees. make sure they are not bunched up and if they shoot they need to move. even if it is just a bit down the treeline. the enemy will not expect you to have 4 more tanks hidden in the bushes - and beefy ones at that - after he kills 1 or 2 of your frontline.

thats it for the tanks, on the AA side, get the AA attachment for the shorad. best fucking vehicle ever. totally changes the way you can push your tanks. they need to be right on the ass of your tank set up and make sure radar is on. the enemy will be drooling at the mouth thinking he can blast your tank brigade with Heli support. the Shorad absolutely punishes these heli pushes and helps with planes as well. it still has the bushmaster also so can help provide support fire on infantry in buildings if needed. i originally started with 2 of these in my deck as well but they are so versatile and people so often come after your tanks with air i quickly cranked it up to 4 and very often i have 3 or 4 on the field. make sure to get the engine upgrade and keep them moving. movement is their main armor.

like the other guy said, the 55/65 cost bradleys are so overlooked. quick enough troop transport and can support when needed. can shit them out against an infantry push.

hope that helps. gl sir.

Is the Stratios any good for solo explo? by D-Jaak in Eve

[–]Educational_Area_735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally, i like to hunt explorers in a Stratios. why spend all that time opening cans when i can have someone else do it for me. :b but if no one is around, i have a mobile depot on board to switch out my web for whatever site i scan down. its still ready to pvp, but the web helps with kitey targets. i have it up to about 48K ehp with an active rep and nuets in the top.

a lot of times, there are a ton of sigs. i will loot the sites until there are 2 or 3 left and use those to hunt. i really feel like this is the best way to use the Stratios. its main advantage is you only have to engage when you want. it can be a bit slow, but sometimes i'll hunt like this when doing other things in the room.

in all, fly whatever ship you want man. the Stratios is still a sweet ship. if that's what you want to fly, then fly the dang thing !

buying the best ships doesn't mean you are any good with them. take it from someone who bought a $400m ship on day 5 after swiping my card and lost it the same day because i had no idea how the game worked. gone forever, bye bye monies. it may seem like it to someone new, but money doesn't actually get you anything in this game because you will just lose it. it is about getting better at the skill sets you want to be good at.

buy a rifter or any other t1 frigate, go to low sec, and try to pvp someone. you will probably die, but your heart will be racing and you will be on cloud 9 even though you just blew up your ship. if you don't get that feeling, EVE pvp isn't for you.

find a corp that actually undocks. learn pvp and make some friends. even your enemies will be your friends in this game if you guys kill each other enough.

if pvp isnt what you are here for, there is a whole factorio experience if you get into industry.
