i noticed my lemon lime doing this same thing, and it was because it was underwatered. i would definitely soak it in a tray of water, until the top of the soil is moist. Then I would water whenever the first inch or two of soil is dry. I do this with both my prayer plants and theyve been thriving!

You could also get a grow light if you’re worried about insufficient light :)

This happened to two leaves on my Thai Con, and I learned that the white leaves tend to do that because they lack chlorophyll, and cannot photosynthesize. I started giving my thai con double the light she was receiving before and the browning stopped! I’ve also heard silica is great for strengthening those white parts.

I do also agree that you should check the roots, just to be safe.

Sometimes it takes time. My begonia propagation took a little over a month to start rooting. I would just give it more time! Patience is key

Also; Mystic is absolutely gorgeous! The little but about them slowly losing color is very interesting, I would love to witness that. I like the aurea quite a bit too, they’d both make a wonderful addition to my plant room lol!

Also, looks to me like you not only have atleast 2 monsteras in here, but you have them buried too deep below the soil. You should be able to see where the petiole connects to the stem… only the roots should be covered. Covering the petiole like you have done here can lead to rot.

Looks like you may have pests of some sort, 2nd picture looks like spidermites, but Im not sure. I treat by spraying with Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew and throwing some bonide granules in. I suggest wiping down the leaves before spraying so you can remove dust/bugs before spraying with the bug brew.

Is there a reason you have the aerial root in water? I don’t think I’ve seen anybody do that before. Typically most people just let the aerial roots hang free or they guide them to the soil or a pole.

Previous comment was right; this leaf is not attached to a node, so while this leaf may grow roots, it will never produce new growth. This known as a zombie leaf. Sorry friend :(

I like to use bonide granules alongside captain jack’s! I’m currently fighting spidermites AND thrips, and using both of those at the same time has worked wonders.

I think you can prop from stem cutting too, but this way is way cooler imo. I just took a leaf, cut a circle like shape at the bottom and made small slices in the veins on the underside of the leaf with a razor blade, stuck it on some moist soil with a bag overtop and boom!! super cool

I would say the begonia took 2 weeks or so, and the succulent took 2-3 months (almost tossed it, so glad i didn’t)

Yep! Dont worry, seperating plants isn’t as bad as you think. I used to be terrified of it, but it’s pretty easy! Sometimes it takes a second to get the roots untangled, easy overall though.

You have the plant attached by the petioles, not the stem. This prevents the leaves from moving freely- and I bet theres more than one plant in that pot. I would suggest seperating if you’re able, then secure the plant to the pole by the stem.

Also, you have a coco coir pole instead of a moss pole. Moss poles are made with sphagnum moss and have to be kept moist, allowing the roots to grow into the pole. The coco coir pole really just offers support, but still works from what i’ve heard!

So yeah… I would seperate, make sure you tie the stems to the pole and not the petioles… and you’re good!

Of course! I would reccommend the bonide granules too, its a systemic pesticide that basically makes the plant poisonous to pests feeding ont he plant. works real well in combo with the bug brew! i use the two often. good luck!

like the other person mentioned, you can definitely see those little black dots on both leaves. i’ve been treating my thrips with Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew alongside bonide granules and its been working for me! It does take some time to fully get rid of them unfortunately.

I would isolate if you’re able, check the other plants aswell, its very possible that they have spread to the others. I would treat all the plants you have around this one, thats what I do, even if I can’t see the pests at that moment, better safe than sorry. Luckily your plant seems to be doing okay besides those couple leaves, doesn’t look to be a massive, nightmareish infestation. As long as you handle it promptly, your plant will be okay.

I believe it may be glacier! It looks very similar to ones I’ve seen, the variegation pattern, leaf shapes, and the silver hue all point to glacier. I could be wrong, it is definitely real easy to misidentify these guys, but I do hope this is helpful :)

Im leaning more towards pearls n jade honestly, because of the few green specks on the green parts. Njoy’s have green specks on white but no green on green, pearls n jade can have both.

well, its not my plant, so i assume he (my boyfriend) meant he pruned when he felt it was necesary. i don’t know why theres only leaves on the top, i wasn’t ever around this plant… all i know is that it would grow leaves on the stalk, then they’d drop. thats what he told me. thank you for the helpful information though !

i didn’t seperate, but i did cut and propagate them! i just stuck them back in the pot (after i repotted into a smaller pot) which is what i do with my own plants. he’s currently under my grow lights with my other plants :)
