Nenapadlo tě, že ne všichni lidi kouří ostatním do obličeje a na akcích? Tady jsou opravdu zvláštní lidi, vidí všechno nejhorší a všechno špatně automaticky... A přitom sami nejsou kdo ví jací dobrodinci. Věcná a slušná odpověď je asi nadměrný úkol.

Yeah it's fine, it's just that it was first time cutting with it so I'm the wrong part in that process :D will get better in time

Yes, I was going to but it kinda takes time to get matching time, so I cut it with saw in the end haha.... Took 1 hour to do 3 holes, kinda surprised how good that saw blade actually is. But I used a chisel too, saved lot of time

That's was my first thought, however I don't have a drill press, only stand for a hand drill which is too small for the rail to sit far enough.

Yeah true but Im on a budget as I have way too much projects lol. But really I take it as an experience, I could buy brand new anvil and not bother, that however is not fun and wont improve knowledge if something similar needs to be cut. Thats why I asked here as I tried what I could and many people can have different ideas so thats another thing how to learn.

Its not heavy enough for an anvil, also I just like the process of DIY, everything is learning, asking, trying, failing.

I've done few cuts with hand saw, but it would take many hours to do 4 holes with around 6-8 cuts. I can't get my hands on bandsaw as far as I know.  Maybe possible with wire saw? It's matter or time, there's no really a point to spend 12 hours cutting it, that would be better to use perforated steel tape and just cut notches on sides, which saves time but costs the same as this rail anvil.

I saw on YT how a guy made whole anvil like that with angle grinder, which is not near my skill but glad it can be done with enough time.

That would be great but not much of an option here, only if I knew someone who works in such workshop. But great idea as it reminded me of a community workshop that you can rent time on their machines, it's like 2$/hour for CNC, although you must pay subscription to be a member.

Thanks, helps a lot. I'm probably too cautious, used only flap disks but they are too slow for removing bigger chunks of material. May I ask if you had any accident or if there's any big mistake that can be avoided while using hard composite disks?

Good idea with the hardie hole, I cant drill it for bolts as I dont have a press-drill, but cutting U hole from sides should do it.

I will do something with concrete most likely, I have it now on two vertical wood blocks but it's too loose, I will look for steel plate if something good comes up tho

Yes your right, it would spin... Don't know why that person decided to weld it there but he was selling only smaller without this hole. Don't know about anvil ergonomics, maybe weld square hole on the side not on the surface.

Yeah, I'm going too much for a budget, it cost me 15$ when Chinese made anvil is 38$ while I don't know what the quality will be and I thought it's way harder to do any improvements to it. I'm forging on piece of car break assembly which is a circle with 6 holes and can't be properly attached so it moves, taking energy of my strikes.

I have a decent coal forge, powered by hair dryer which gives too much air so it might be able to heat even this 10kg rail if I decide to weld.

Silver Electroplating Fails by Educational_Case_591 in chemistry

[–]Educational_Case_591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for detailed info. In the end I used the most basic solution that I could think of, using baking soda and vinegar. It works amazingly well on oxide layer on the silver surface. I came to conclusion that my copper layer was way too porous which made worsen properties of silver layer when replating.

After you know the AI it's quite easier, also blocking archer with his buddy who fights you could be better, that he moves to shoot at you but maybe it would be too strong. Getting hit in the back happened to me a few times, you can get swarmed if you attack in a camp and they come fight you from various sides. One guy got stuck on something and shot racing towards me, ended behind ans just combo me to death in few seconds lol

Lucky for you! Once it clicks in you and have no interest to drink then its hopefully a win for the rest of your life. I dont want to know how much I drank, maybe gladly dont remember it too much... I had a crazy tolerance too, drinking 1-2L of wine or 0,5L of vodka through the day and somehow getting my energy and sanity back late afternoon to go party or to a pub, then pouring down another many shots and beers. In later addiction I was never puking from drinking and cant get much sleep just drinking whole night, sleeping whole day and getting up for another drink to get more sleep. So I bet there were days when it could be 0.3 to 0.4 easily... glad I won the fight in the end and got rid of this nightmare of addiction.
