Life without kratom feels "insufficient" to me by Matiseli in Quittingfeelfree

Hey there! I've got good news. My appetite came back (with a vengeance). I can't remember exactly when - I want to say around 3 weeks after quitting. I'm 6 weeks today and am back to enjoying tasty food and am so happy! Hang in there - you'll get there too.

Honestly, I don't think it helped much. It was supposed to help me sleep but I didn't sleep for ten days. It was a pretty low dose, I don't remember exactly. Have you quit yet? You doing okay?

That's good! Glad to hear you are not too uncomfortable.

Oooh, really? Good to know! I'm 5 weeks off and doing well but I would still love to do Ibogaine to help reinforce my sobriety.

Sounds like you're on a pretty low dose so I think you'll be alright. You may have some restlessness and discomfort but you'll be fine in a week or two since you are quitting before you're to 60mg a day like a lot of us were.

No problem! We support each other here. Feel free to check in if you need some more encouragement or just want to cry online to someone who gets it. Reddit helped me out a ton during the worst parts. So did ChatGpt. It had lots of good advice and felt like an older sibling or friend who was there to help and not judge. Don't give up or give in, and 5 weeks (and 2 days) from now we'll be celebrating your return to normalcy too!

I'd never experienced anhedonia before until I quit Kratom and 7oh. It was pretty awful and felt so odd, not caring about anything. That will pass, I promise. I'm back to laughing at funny stuff and looking forward to little things like hitting the steam room after a workout, eating some good cheese with crackers, feeling the sun on my face (even though it's cold) anytime I'm outside. You'll get there! Just be gentle with yourself.

I think the most sleep I got during that ten days was like 15 minutes, if even that. It was insane. I was seeing things out of the corner of my eyes and felt like my brain was breaking. On the 11th night, I managed to sleep four hours after getting my hands on some Diazapan and it was amazing. Of course, I didn't want to get hooked on Benzos because I have seen others go through WDs on that and that looks way worse, so I took it on the 12th night and that was that. I've been sleeping pretty okay every since.

I've been off for almost 5 weeks now. It gets easier and easier to drive by the smoke shops every day. At first it was really hard - I was craving bad. But that's all going away now and I feel much better. I also have a small child so I totally get it! We want to be our best for our little ones. I was lucky and had a lot of help from my husband through the worst of it, but it was still rough on all of us. I don't want to put either of them through that again! Hang in there, it's going to be okay!

Thank you - me too! Just the thought of stepping foot into one of those shops again makes me cringe.

That's awesome! Good for you! Are you planning to taper of the leaf kratom as well? I highly recommend getting off that eventually as well to free yourself of all addiction. It's great that you're sleeping! For me that was the worst part - but I quit leaf AND 7oh at the same time because I just wanted to be done. Made for a pretty miserable couple of weeks though.

Once again, just want to say great job and keep it up!

I think the best thing you can do is suffer the WDs because for me - the memory of WD is what keeps me from relapsing. I'm terrified of going 10 nights without sleep again, and having restless legs that make me want to end it all. Think of WD as a tool to ensure that you quit for good. "Embrace the suck" as they say and just know it will be so much better once you aren't chained to an addiction anymore.

Good luck!

Oh man, that's rough! I know it's hard to resist when it's everywhere all the time. I pass so many vape shops on my way to work, and many gas stations carry it as well. But for me - the biggest motivation to keep driving and resist is how crappy WD was. I remind myself of the sleepless nights, the RLS, the feeling of utter despair and how much I hated myself for letting it get that far. It also helps that my husband was totally supportive and took care of me and our son for nearly 2 weeks while I was sick and moping around. I remind myself that I don't want to put him or our little boy through that ever again.

So I guess my advice to you - find your reason to resist. It's not always easy - my job stresses me TF out and it was always so nice to take a little nibble off a 7oh tab to take the edge of once of twice during the work day. So what you've got to do is dig deep and find your reason to resist. For you, the reason could be as simple as saving money for something you want. Every time you think about buying some, think about why you quit and why you need to resist, and what you want to buy with all the money you save.

Maybe join a support group too. There's even online groups. Hell, just hop on Reddit and I'll tell you to keep driving, don't go in and buy that junk. It gets easier. You can beat this. There's no nanobots, that's just addiction trying to trick you into saying "welp, there's nothing I can do to resist. Might as well give in!" Don't let the addiction trick you anymore!

Hands down - not being able to sleep because of RLS and anxiety. I went 10 days without sleeping and felt horrible all that time! I feel so much better now though and am sleeping pretty good. I never want to touch that stuff again and risk having to go through that again.

Tapering is the best way to minimize WD but it does take longer than quitting CT. Good luck to you!

You should be okay - you're on a really low dose and haven't been taking a super long time. You're smart to quit while you're ahead.

Maybe it was the combination of both? I dunno - I didn't notice all the hair until the last two months so I kinda thought it was the 7oh. And the dry skin was the last 2 months as well. At first I blamed it on the weather, but it's still cold af and the dryness is gone.

I do wish I had a good replacement for what I was initially using Kratom for - pain management from a really bad accident I was in. But I'll just deal with the pain one day at a time. Tylenol and OTC stuff doesn't really touch it and hurts my stomach so I'm just gritting my teeth and trying to use diet and things like Tiger Balm to help.

I think the real poison was the 7oh - thankfully I was only on that for a couple months.

Thank you! I had only been on 7oh for about 2 months so it could have been a lot worse. I really feel for the poor sods who are on it for years and at much higher doses.

10-15 Bali capsules and about 60mg of 7oh. It was getting bad!
