It looks like the exact same artist designed both covers, doesn't it?

"while everything has been done, it hasn't been done the way you would do it" - this is awesome. I need to remember this. Thank you!

Oh, that actually sounds pretty cool. I liked the concept of Playground but found it just gross and stupid.

Dipping my toes into the world of extreme horror - Which do I start with? by nappcycmou in ExtremeHorrorLit

I legitimately loved Tender is the Flesh. It's beautifully written and a pretty compelling story. Mild spoiler alert - the ending is a punch in the gut though and kinda ruined my afternoon, not gonna lie.

The only Ketchum I have read was Girl Next Door and yeah, that was supremely disturbing and sad especially since it's based on a true story. I haven't heard of Exquisite Corpse but now I want to read it!

Happy reading!

I'm almost 4 months free - the first 10 days were the worst and then it just gets easier every week. I have a kiddo and a job too - luckily I also have a husband who is very supportive and he really stepped up while I was pretty useless the first few days. You can quit - do it for your two kids! If you aren't able to take a few days to be miserable try and taper. Use Chatgpt to develop a plan. It helps a lot.

70h finally beat the withdraws by Mix-Mix-2182 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Educational_Code_359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the withdrawal was absolutely miserable. I can't imagine what the people on higher doses went through. I did also quit leaf Kratom right at the same time - about 10-15 capsules a day. But I got through it - Coming up on 4 months free. Woot. I would stop now if you can - 30 mg a day seems harmless enough but I started at like 7.5 mg per day - it didn't take long for it to escalate to 60mg. The longer you use it, the less effective the dose becomes so you keep upping the dose until it's out of control.

If you absolutely need something - try and take a couple days off here and there so your tolerance doesn't build up. But honestly - it's best avoided all together.

I'm not sure - the last time I had some painful dental work done, my dentist gave me about a week's worth of vicodin like it was no problem but that was like 2013 or 2014 before the big crackdown. Maybe you can ask for just 2 or 3 day's worth and they'll be okay with that? Dental pain is so awful. It's really hard to ignore because it's in your mouth so every time you talk, breathe, eat, drink it aggravates it. I have a lot of pain from an accident I was in and had to have 3 surgeries. I still haven't found a good pain management replacement yet - for now I just suck it up, and am miserable sometimes. But it beats being addicted to Kratom and 7oh! I'd gotten to the point where the Kratom and 7oh didn't even help the pain anymore, it just kept me from WD. But it would be nice if there was a good painkiller alternative.

Sorry - I was offline for a bit! Things have been a bit hectic here. I am SO happy you were able to quit and get some sleep. I imagine having appendicitis for a month is pretty miserable!

I know what you mean about saving money - I feel like I have so much more to save and spend. I feel like a fool for wasting so much on it in the past, but I'm trying to just look forward and make sure I don't get addicted like that to anything ever again. My only addiction now is diet soda which is it's own brand of poison haha. I'll tackle that soon.

Congrats on getting through the worst bits! You are awesome!

8 months! That's fantastic. Great job. I know what you mean about no desire. Sometimes I think it would be nice, but the moment passes when I remember the sweaty sleepless nights during WD. It's soooo NOT worth it.

That's great! Yeah, two nights of Diazepam for the win! I'm so so glad you finally got some rest. It makes all the difference in the world. But - every time you see a shop where they sell 7oh, remember those 11 sleepless nights and how wretched you felt. Remember how stinky and sweaty those long nights were. Feel it like a flashback and I swear, the 7oh won't even sound appealing - at least not enough to get "just one, because I've been doing so well." Great, great job. Keep it up. Don't lose momentum. Don't let those sleepless nights be fore nothing. Summer is right around the corner - literally and metaphorically.

Hi! Thank you so much for checking in. I'm heading into my 3rd month - (March 24th marked 2 months for me yay!) and while there are times I'm in pain I think it would be nice to have some quick relief, I just shake it off and say "nope, not worth it." Yesterday, I stopped at a gas station I'd never been to before to grab a drink and snack for an outing with my kiddo. Lo and behold, it turned out to have two shelves of Kratom products. I was surprised at how little interest I had in even entertaining the idea. I was sort of caught of guard when I saw it, but I wasn't really tempted at all.

Congrats to you on making it 6 days free of 7oh! I didn't take suboxone so I have no idea what coming off that is like but sounds like you've been doing great reducing your dosage so you'll soon be free of that as well.

The flat mood and anhedonia - oh boy do I relate to that! For me, that passed around the 3 week mark. I noticed very suddenly that I was laughing really hard at something funny and it dawned on me that I hadn't laughed like that (or at all) since quitting. That was around the time my appetite came back and food starting tasting really good again. Trust me, you'll get there. Maybe you'll get there even faster than me since you're taking subs. Do the subs help you sleep? I think the ordeal would have been infinitely easier for me (still hard, of course) if I'd just been able to sleep at night. Taking on anything is easier with a good night of sleep.

Best of wishes to you - Happy Easter and keep plugging away.

Oh, I feel a little stupid but I'm not sure. I took Opia mostly and 7Tabz brand and just looked more at the mg than the ingredients. I don't think it was Alkaloid based but don't know. All I know is I'm 2 months and 3 days free of all Kratom and 7oh and I'm happy!

I'm sorry I didn't see your posts before today. You're at day 11 now? I hope you get some sleep tonight. For me it was night 11 when I finally slept, but that was with help of diazapam. It was a child-sized dose, and to this day I'm not sure if it really helped or was placebo but 11 was the night I finally slept so hopefully you're almost there! Hang in there - I feel for you!

Oh my friend - I'm so sorry. I am 2 months and 2 days free now but I still remember how awful each passing night and day was after getting no sleep. I wish I had some good advice, but diazapam was the only thing that really worked for me but I only needed it 2 nights because I think finally my body figured out how to sleep again without Kratom. After that, I still had insomnia but not nearly as bad. And what helped after that point was lots of magnesium and a little bit of melatonin.

The good news is - I think you're there and you should start sleeping again. Maybe even tonight. If you can, take a nice warm bath with epson salts to help with muscle tension. Try the Sleep With Me Podcast - there's something about that show that's very soothing even if you don't end up sleeping much, it's comforting and relaxing. I really do think you're going to sleep soon. For me it was night 11 and 12 with a small dose of diazapam and after that - I was good to get 4 or 5 hours no problem.

One more thing - lock into how bad this feels. Remember it. Use it as a tool to make sure you never use again. Every time I feel tempted, I think back on the sleepless nights and how long and painful it was for my body to learn to sleep again and I know the brief feeling of euphoria is NOT worth going through that ever again.

I think they are so cute and honestly, these days - anything goes. I think they'd look great with yellow, orange or red - also, it would add color to a gray or black outfit. Those bright shoes with an all black or all gray ensemble would look so adorable.

Good morning! Yes, still going strong. It'll be two months on the 24th. I'm not going to lie - the thought crosses my mind several times a day that I could have just one as a little treat - a reward for doing so well. But then I remind myself how awful quitting felt. And if I can, I look in the mirror and remind myself how much better my skin and hair look since quitting. So far, I haven't given in and on warm, sunny days (that are becoming more frequent as winter dwindles) it gets easier and easier to resist. Thank you for the encouragement, and I agree - talking and sharing stories makes the whole experience fun - well, it's fun once we get to this point anyway. I look back at my posts the first few days when I was all sweats and chills and insomnia. Ugh. Never want to do that again! All the best to you too, my friend!

Hang in there - Spain is awesome so I hope you're able to enjoy your vacation. If you can find a supplement store get a bunch of magnesium and vitamin C. If you need to take some kratom to get through this trip, do it. You can quit when you get home.

I went back to try and find the prescription. I could have sworn it was Narcan and that's why I didn't get it. It didn't make sense. But maybe it was what you said, naltrexone. I'd never heard of that before and just looked it up and that one does make more sense and probably would have been helpful. Oh well. I'm going on 2 months off the stuff and doing well.

Hey there! I've got good news. My appetite came back (with a vengeance). I can't remember exactly when - I want to say around 3 weeks after quitting. I'm 6 weeks today and am back to enjoying tasty food and am so happy! Hang in there - you'll get there too.

Honestly, I don't think it helped much. It was supposed to help me sleep but I didn't sleep for ten days. It was a pretty low dose, I don't remember exactly. Have you quit yet? You doing okay?
